Re: Anyone affected by all this chaos in London?

I think I got to consider myself quite lucky, I have now heard that around 7 hoodies had gathered around my car (cally) which is parked next to the Manta, and two of them sat on the boot lid of my Manta and three were sat on the roof of my cally with their feet dangling on its bonnet, and a couple of them standing around it, both neighbours tried to phone me and could not find my number straight away, so in a way good job they couldn't as I would probably had gone out to ask them to move on and they could have turned up against me, however, quite lucky the car seems to be not scathed apart from just a few dirt prints from their trainers. Mirrors etc atre all ok.

A car can be replaced but life cannot be.

I think it's best to just let them do what comes natural for a few days and just claim on the insurance. Confronting these knuckle draggers while they're in season would be a bad idea!

It would clear the streets of anybody except those breaking the law, making policing MUCH easier, ie you arrest and detain anyone you see, instead of dealing with 10 looters and 100 onlookers that are in a mixed group.

Go barrel roll through your local Gregg's shutters

I turned the radio on today and was sick of hearing about the riots within a space of 10 seconds.

Some riot related pics for you:

Re: Anyone affected by all this chaos in London?

I'm in South Croydon (i.e. the non black part) and I could hear helicopters and sirens last night (not unusual though really). Turned on the news to see the burning buildings in West Croydon. Could see smoke on the horizon in the direction of West Croydon-was slightly unnerving to say the least. Nothing came down my way though luckily.

If it goes on again tonight, we might retreat further back to Sanderstead where my parents live, if only for the car's sake.

    The elephant in the room!

TBH there is enough white scum in Croydon too, that the West Croydon rioters were probably pretty 50/50 unlike the other parts of London that has experienced riots.

Aaron Biber, 89, stands outside his shop. It was ransacked by rioters.

Glad you're OK MSG - sounds like an eventful and terrifying night.
I lived in London just off Ladbroke Grove for many years back in the 70's and we had the delight of the Notting Hill Carnival riots one year. I remember spending the night with the front door barricaded and sitting watching the TV news showing what was going on around us outside including a burning police car outside our local kebab shop which was about 100 metres down the road.
Scary stuff - stay safe MSG....

Glad folks are ok and managed to not get involved. Not worth risking it for possessions.

    Anyone near Balham?

What is public transport like at the moment?

If you watched any of the Hackney footage http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14450918 from last night, this particular "rioter" can be seen clearly many times in the footage as a big antagonist and perpetrator. Disregard Cameron obviously ;-)

A curfew order would mean anyone breaking it, i.e. being outdoor during the curfew hours risks being shot dead without questions being asked.

I would say if anyone is seen wearing a hoodie or covers their face in anything should be arrested and charged for attempted riots

I feel pretty sorry for them to be honest. It must be pretty bleak being trapped in a ****ty London estate, with no education, no hope of a decent life and surrounded by utter scum! More than likely most are from broken families as well. I'd be pretty angry too.

This is why certain parts of society should be sterilised, instead of being allowed to bring yet another generation of angry, uneducated mongrels into the world. Who in their right mind should be allow people like this to reproduce?

    Hmm perhaps.

These are all pics of the Hackney riots last night so likely it's the same bloke. In fact the middle shot of him is on the front page of The Guardian and Independent. He'll be picked up for sure if they can identify him.

But when or where do you stop shifting the blame to then? Their parents, their parents' parents? If somewhere along the line, one set of parents hadn't been complete fvcking lazy scroungers with no moral code or care for their children, then you wouldn't have these scum kids emerging.
