    Thumbs up Lunch

No this is not a GaryB style thread

Today me and fake Boxxy had a thai / malaysian curry made with beansprouts garlic, onions, , lettuce, cabbage, carrots, sweetcorn. To this was added chicken breast, red thai sauce and coconut milk.

The rice is white long grain, stir fried with eggs and onion

This leaves a very tasty, low-fat mildly spicy curry with plenty of veg.

Dessert was mini sundaes, which are 3 types of ice cream, topped with whipped cream, chocolate fudge sauce, jelly beans, pink sugar, a sprinkle of coffee and a dash of Tia Maria. On special occasions I add marshmallows, belgian chocolate sauce, chocolate balls, crumbled biscuit, chocolate brownies etc... The key is to keep the poritons small. Go for quality over quantity to keep the calories down

It does look rather nice although personaly i prefer Indian curry over Oriental styles.

    Re: Lunch

Since having a child i cant eat korma, just reminds me of the contents of her nappies I dont like sweet curries either to be fair.

Bhuna, Madras, Vindaloo or Jalfrazi for me.

Dont get me wrong, i dont mind Thai Reds and Greens but would opt for a Indian every time. Chinese curry just isn't cricket. I wouldn't expect to buy prawn crackers or deep fried shredded chicken from the Indian so certainly dont want a curry from a Chinese.

    Re: Lunch

I'd headbutt a nun for a vodka and coke right now.

i made a nice curry yesterday, bone in lamb shoulder, marinade in ginger, chili, lime, garlic; cook with lots of onions, various indian spices, coconut milk, tomato, nom nom. Gotta cook it with bone in, then remove meat and discard bone. I love marrow.

I've eaten so much spicy stuff now I am becoming untouchable by normal chilli sauces, I can use scotch bonnet mash like ketchup lmao

    Re: Lunch

Whats a good indian curry to try then?

Something that isn't too hot. By that I mean I like Jalapenos on pizza, I even add the seeds myself to spice them up. So I like hot, but not painfully hot.

    Re: Lunch

I love Madras and Bhunas although every Indian seems to cook them differently. Sounds daft but Iceland do a seriously nice microwavable bhuna..... sounds wrong but i love it. Jalfrazi is good if you like your peppers and what not.

The good thing with either the madras or bhuna is you can have them with either chicken, lamb, beef and often prawn should you so wish.

    Re: Lunch

Bhuna is very tomatoey, or should be dependant on the Indian you use. Ironically i dont like too much tomato which is handy as the Iceland ones dont seem to be. It also consists of alot of onion, that is noticable no matter where you go in my experience.

    Re: Lunch

I didn't have you down as a cooking type, well other than a Pot Noodle anyway? lmao

I spotted the left handed thing too as I eat as though I am cack-handed but I'm not. lmao

If you're wanting an Indian curry go with a samber, they aren't painfully hot and have quite a bit of lemon in them. Or if you want to play it safe and have an Indian version of the above maybe try a moglai? Off what you like above and what you have cooked maybe a balti akbari cham cham? They do that near me.

Oh, anyone that likes Chinese curry get some Maysan or Goldfish curry paste and all you have to do is add water, some onion, peas and some beef and it is exactly like takeaway curry! Awesome.

No. That furry little bugger that didn't like bright lights in Gremlins was a Moglai...
