    Angry £731.11 phone bill

    i just recieved an email from my NP informing me my bill for the month was available to view online so of course i viewd the bill and about spat my coffe all over the comp

    i havent used the phone in question for aprox 2 months as i lost my phone and i am still waiting on insurance deciding wheather they will replace it or not so i havent even gone over my allowance

    they did say that it could be 1 of 3 reasons or all 3 but the reasons they listed where

    calling 0845 numbers, did make calls to my bank on an 0845 number

    using the phone abroad, havent been on holiday since 2009

    going over my tarrif, havent used it in like 2 bloody months

    what do you guys suggest i do??

    So when you reported it stolen or lost did they not disconect it?

    yeah they did mate, i went to the police etc to follow procedures on reporting it lost etc, and i didnt pay my bill that following month as was waiting on my new phone so the new sim i recieved wasnt active

    i then got a pay as you go until i got my replacement phone from insurance (still not got 1) then to save losing my new iphone sim i put it undeer the back case of pay and go sim but now i have lost that phone about 2 weeks ago, i thought i had left my p/g phone at work but now im back from my week of i found that it wasnt left at work

    so even if some 1 else got the iphone sim they still couldnt use it so how they came to £731.11 for this months bill on a phone that hasnt/cant be used beats me

    Something obviously meant that SOMETHING could be used. Otherwise you wouldn't have that bill. What have the provider said? Ask them?

    Oh, don't do the whole 'I want a manager thing' as it is really ****ing lame. The person you speak to should be able to answer it one way or another. Find out which SIM/phone that the bill is registered to.

    Why the hell did you get a new contract sim and store it in something you could carry with you when you have recently lost one? It sounds like a bloody stupid idea to me. Any sane person would put it somewhere safe in a house, not tucked inside a phone when they have just sodding lost one!?!

    much do you pay a month for line rental?

    i pay £35 and i use my fone for everything

    never pay more than £50, that a dear one for me lol

    i have ust recieved the bill so havent as yet had a chance to speak to my provider

    i couldnt give a bloody toss who i spoke to as long as they are ENGLISH speaking polite helpfull and speak cleary other wise phone goes down!

    the sim is regesterd to the iphone that i lost but it is a REPLACEMENT SIM

    i done that because i am terrible when it comes to putting something in a safe hidden place in the home as i can almost gaurantee i will have forgoten where i put it, (who said i was sane???)

    Yeah, you are NOT sane in any way shape or form.

    I could not justify that in any way. Ok, I pay £20 a month for L2 access which would be silly for some people to pay that each month on 'software' (especially as my PC is ****ed currently and will not even do 4OD) but that makes me at least 10 times that each month. £75 on a phone? You cannot be mentally stable.

    £75 a month you think thats expensive? i was near that a month just on calls on P/G so thought i would have made a saving oing contract clearly not

    if you think £75 a month on a phone bill is bad then if you only knew how much wonga i waste a week/month it would probably make you cry, but i will do as i wish with my cash al tho i have started tightening the belt a notch

    £75 a month on a phone bill is obscene nowadays. A decade ago it was easily done but nowadays it isn't. That's not normal unless you are shirking your job and/or have no life away from phoning people.

    i think i was a bit quick in signing up to my contract and now having signed it must honour the contract weather or not i use the phone

    I've probably paid £75 in call costs in the 17 years I've had mobile phones lmao.

    Slight exaggeration but around £20 lasts me a year on Virgin mobile for calls, texts and data lmao

    I had to have a mobile for my job back when they were first starting to become popular - I absolutely hated it and have done ever since.

    **** me!! how much do you use your phone to justify paying £75 a month?? my missus pays £35 a month got a free blackbery 900mins and unlimited tex and internet, even thats to much for me i pay £17 for 300 mins and unlimited tex and net

    900min **** no's how many txt? and only 500mb internet so get **** all for my money

    Although I stand by the fact you have been very silly. I think there is also some sort of 'shock bill' thing that I have read somewhere that providers will 'write off' a debt. I think it's mainly about roaming but I may be wrong?

    Google it. If you get no luck bump this thread and I will have a look for it when I get a chance.

    the roaming thing is that not related to the internet side of the phone/contract?

    You have 14 days to back out IIRC. Once outside of that cooling off period you can downgrade your contract within the timescales, you can with 02 anyway but it is normally after 9 months IIRC?

    orange and tmobile will let you drop one bracket after the halfway point of the contract
