with o2 after 6 months you can lower your tariff i believe. I need to do this but keep forgetting. £75 a month is a rediculous amount but then again ive had phone bills where quarter of my wages a month went on them and this went on for a few years (woman are expensive lmao)

When did you report the first sim lost? when you got the replacement sim did you activate it or did they say it will be sent out live?

I see you say you reported it lost/stolen to the police, but did you actually tell the network? If not, you're still liable for any calls made.

just tell them the date you reported it stolen and forget about it, also if the phone is stolen they will know its location when making a call so if its miles away they can tell.. IE calls made during the time you were at work etc.

    Re: £731.11 phone bill

Refuse to pay for something you did not use or order, or dial and there isn't anything they can do, they will threaten you with what not, but stand firm on your ground and report them to ofcom, and counter threaten them with a libel suit for causing you distress by their continuing thretening demands and balif action and tarnishing your credit history. You could sue them for a lot more damges if they did that.

I did just that when some utility companies with whom I had not taken out any contract or signed up to supply any Gas or Electricity, started billing my address under various different names, and in 3 years four different energy suppliers started to write to my address, using 4 different names one by one, but I stayed put, I returned those bills back to the sender explaining them that such person they had addressed to had never occupied this premises or is unknown, but they kept sending those estimated bills in those same names, so finally after returning the mail sevral times, I got fed up, and started to ignore any further demands. I would open up the bills just to see what was the new score, or if there were red reminders, threatening to cut my supplies off, etc etc.

Then finally when i started to get more serious threatening demands for unpaid energy bills , letters started coming in from bailif companies, all those bills were based on overly estimated use of energy, which were no way near my actual consumption, but I was not going to provide them with a true reading either, because they used a different name, and secondly i never signed on with them.

It appears that door to door sales team signed fake contracts using invented names, and earned their commission and enrolled my adress with different suppliers under different invented names.

Finally, when the bills became huge and their demands became threatening, I reported them to ofgem, as they ignored my returend bills stating clearly that no such person had occupied at that address, and Ofgem they took my case on and in the end I never had to pay them any penny, and finally I chose my original supplier that i was with before the change occured, or the one that I preffered as my energy supplier and gave them a fresh reading from the date I signed on with my preffered supplier. So any energy i used during those fake bills I did not have to pay a penny!

So all those fake suppliers and fake names lost out every penny and I paid no bills for 3 years. Ha ha!

(this was years ago when the Government reformed the energy suppliers and energy generating as two seperate entities and many new suppliers were born, this introduced competetion among the many new energy suppliers and hundreds of energy suppliers emerged trying to offer cheap energy.) We used to have mobile phones in work that cost a fixed £2000 a month! That was in 2001, so not that long ago really, think it's pretty much the same now.

for telphone complaints you would make get in touch with Ofcom if the service provider does not address your complaint to your satisfaction.

    Re: £731.11 phone bill

First I would just lodge the complaint by presenting them the facts, facts such as your mobile was reported stolen, police crime reference etc, and the fact that you never made any such calls, and even if the phone was not stolen, if you never made any unidentifiyable calls, you can still dispute those charges as there can be an element of error call loggings or some other phnomenon where others may have made calls on your account, these days what is not possible.

Then let them take this up with the service provider, and they will between them reach a satisfying solution, and let you know the outcome, in my case I was told by the Ofgem that I should no longer get any letters or remineders from those utility companies and they can no longer block my transfer to the choice of my energy supplier, so in my case they stopped sending me any more demand notices and any further correspndence, which meant that any use of energy I had between being switched on to a new supplier of my choice, i did not have to pay a penny for any energy consumed during that period when my accounts were set up under a different name by their doddgy sales reps.

    Re: £731.11 phone bill

I was having problems direct dialling a friend abroad, tried several times, but the phone would not connect, checked international dialling codes and still no luck, so rang the BT operator, told him of my problem, and he said let him have the number I was trying to call directly, so that he can try and see if he can dial that number directly, as there may well be a problem with the number itself, so when he did, it got connected at his end, and he came back to me and said he has managed to get conneceted, and asked me if I want him to now connect me to that call, and never mentioned anything about so caled operator connected calls, so I naturally asked him please do, and talked to a mate for well over an hour, and when the bill came the following month, that call alone cost me well over £75.00 and plus VAT!

I protested and told the BT bill enquiry that I was never told about the higher charges would apply, so despite my continuing protest, they refused to cancel the charges and I then decided that it was time to say Good bye to BT

I applied my own justice here! (LOL)

BTW, Did you know that BT is preveneted from reducing its prices against other competitors or other telecome service providers by the Government, because it would not be fair on the competition I have been told. And now they have lost so much business to their competition, there are telecome companies and service providers or calling cards that you can now call Australia, The far east, for 1p a minute including mobiles!
