    Unhappy Balls lost my job

Just had my weekly meeting and been told that i am being let go :to be added:

Ive not had much support from when i started and all i seem to hit is red tape but the project ive been doing is being put on hold until February where it will be given to a outside company to do. This means i am unemployed again and im gutted granted no 90 mile a day driving thank god but no wages coming in.

In typical fashion of my work place i haven't got a end date but im having another meeting next week to discuss the future. Frankly im annoyed i have to drive here each day until then which will cost me yet more money brickwall

So any advise on where to job hunt

I've been in and out of sketchy jobs since January 2009, the job sitation in the UK is in a mess at the moment.
I just got a knock back from a job 'second interview' last week - first interview this year, it's tragic.

There making redundancies where I am, 50 to go, 26 voluntary and about 5 retired. I know off 4 people who are at risk, it's not a nice situation, but work is drying up.

Hope you get something soon though.

    Re: Balls lost my job

I am honestly sorry to hear that Kev.

I recall you stuck your neck out (lmao) going there in the first place as you were unsure about it?

It sounds like you weren't too happy anyway and if you didn't like commuting then it probably wasn't for you. I was recently commuting that sort of distance on a daily basis, albeit at overtime rate in a company car (Corsa D 1.2, it's honestly THE most WANK car I have ever driven, I handed it back and used the Metro in the end. lmao) with expenses paid which I still haven't handed in.

There is a lot to be said for enjoying what you do fella. I have only realised that in the last few years. I could easily earn more money in another role, maybe even with the same company, but the people I work with are the ones I get up to see each day (well, when I am not on my 2 month summer break! lmao) and thankfully I don't need the money.

I am sure you will sort something soon fella, you have a unique set of skills. What about applying to be a periscope or capturing images of far away planets, a spy or a crane driver that can see the shizzle at ground level but still be at the controls? A walking/talking drainage camera that can see and report blockages? Or maybe an extra as a giraffe in a film?

Tathan has a bottle of vodka, root vegetables, some green notes in his pocket and wants to put a smile on your face.

So, do you want to work or not?

EDIT: On a serious note pal, I jumped from job to job and generally worked with complete and utter ****ing spastics. I like where I work now. You could honestly offer me double the money and I genuinely wouldn't leave. I hope you find somewhere that you are so content as you are a sound lad TBH. Now, stop looking through my window.

Go and get a job in a tyre place or something to pay the bills for a few months and enjoy the chance to just totally unwind and not have to worry about ongoing projects or stress or anything I reckon, ie something TOTALLY different to what you would normally do.

one of the temp jobs was doing something completely random but was £150 a day for 3 months that would do to bump up savings

It might not work for your position, but it might help to push "Garden Leave", in this day and age i think you'll be lucky, but it might be worth a try.

Means you still get paid your wage, but don't have to commute, and can look for jobs. Not sure on your exact circumstances, but thought i'd chime in with something. :ChinPpSmileyToBeAdded:
