    More elderly neighbours...... Rant

What the fu#k! Do i just attract idiots or something? No sooner have i solved the problem with the neighbough's accross the road, when i get a knock on the door from another!

The divvy bird is about 65, and knocked on my door saying. "My car has no petrol in it, can you come to the station and fill it up for me"? Of course i automatically assume that she's ran out, so go outside look at her car and theres a quarter of a tank. she says, "ive never used a petrol pump before and im scared, I need a full tank as its got its MOT tomorrow"

I wont even start explaining whats wrong with that comment. So anyway, i get in the car and we set off for waitrose which is about half a mile away.To put it bluntly, She scared the living sh#t out of me! Despite having the heaters on full blast, she switched lanes more times than it was actually possible to do so, without checking her mirrors once, Ran a red light and nearly got T-boned, Then stalled, Then when re-starting the car held the key round for about 10 seconds on the starter motor..... and finally to the station..... phew.

So she pulls up at the pump like its a traffic light, with the headlights level with the nozzel, then proceeds to fill the car up under my instruction, (after me rolling the car forward about 12 feet). Great, nearly done im thinking.

Im sat in the car for about 10 mins thinking, "Where the fu#k is she?", then she comes running out crying saying that she doesnt have enough money and she never thought it would be so expensive! Can i pay some towards it!

I say, surely you knew how much it was? it says on the pump! And anyway, No, I dont have my wallet (although obviously i did).

So after causing a queue that goes out the door, she fills in her details and agrees to pay later, Comes back to the car, (by which time ive pointed all of the heater vents over to her side) and we drive home in the same dangerous manor that we arrived.

Halfway home she says. "luvvy do you mind waiting in the car and coming back down with me"...... Now, up until this point ive been polite, but unfortunately by this time id lost all patients and was very short with her... Told her to pull herself together and to maybe re-consider her driving career. I had things to do so left her too it.

I cant believe some people are so incompetent. There is absolutely no way in the world she would pass a driving test. Not by a long shot either.

So anyway, i tried to do the right thing but it would appear i dont bear well when in the company of idiots....

Ive always said we should all have to re-sit our driving test once every 3 years, government funded and free of charge. If we are still competent then there wont be a problem, And if not then its a win win because muppets like her will be removed from the roads..

    Rant over

You sure it wasn't me old Uncle?

He was the same. 75 years old and probably should have hung up his driving gloves years ago. It was the gradual slide... wouldn't put the car away in the garage as it was too far to walk, wouldn't drive at night/if it was sunny/raining, wouldn't go to get fuel as he was unsteady on his feet and was worried he cause delays for others... the final straw was when he drove the car off the end of an unfinished road into a hole. Though could have been worse, could have gone off the end of Aberdour pier.

So yes I agree, definately stricter restrictions needed for this type of driver.
