Hdere are some more of the 3 kittens who have grown up so quickly, including when they had just been born on the 17th May this year.

    Re: My New Catlog

She gave birth to 7 kittens and unfortunately 2 died during birth because she did not clean them up or gave those two any chance to start life in this world, and then 2 others died two days later within minutes of each other due to weakness and lack of milk, the 3 surviving kittens each had a dedicated teat and always suckled their favourite teat, there was no mixing up there.

Shockingly, she is preggies again, and new kittens are due any minute! (what a disaster!! )

My vet said don't worry if she is still breast feeding then she shouldn't get preggies again, so don't have to rush her for spaying, I tried booking her for spaying and he said wait another week or two, until her milk has fully dried up!! and it takes only minute to get pregnent again!

can you even imagine what MIG would be like if MSG was made an admin? lmao

all posts of less than 50 lines would result in a 2 week gag,
any post that doesn't mention cats will result in infraction points
staying on topic for the entire post will result in a lifetime ban

still, could be worse:, it could be steve! for admin

    Re: My New Catlog

My one got shagged right in front of my very own eyes, at first I thought she was in pain and being forced upon, and was about to kick his balls in,
(No course not! ) when i realised how much more she was enjoying than him! The father came from a good family nearby, and was a tabby as well, so I let the nature take its course, glad that I had not deprived her of experiencing the heavenly pleasures, probably her first ever, and become a mother.

I learned a lot about how the cats go through the gestation period and labour, and give birth, with me giving a helping hand, she absolutely didn't mind I helped.
A week before she gave birth, I took her to the vet for another cause (she being sick throwing out just the stomach acids (bile) and had not eating anything for 2 days, but the vet was more concerend about her babies being big and getting stuck in her pelvic bone so wanted me to spend £75.00 for an ultra sound scan that I didn't want him to do but he insisted, and tells me she has 4 babies, so what a waste of time as she had 7 babise.

This is Buster - the last of my pussy posse - and he'll be twenty years old this month - his brother and sister got to 17 and 18 years. He's the equivalent of an 84 year old human - he can still leap up onto the garden table but the garage roof is a bit beyond him now. He still has the occasional scrap but tends to spend more time sleeping than anything else - which is understandable.

wow amazing he is 20 years old, that is quite good an age even for cats. Must have looked well after him, well done. Nice picture dude.

Oh thanks as well cause I was looking for a name to go with Bruno, so Buster & Bruno goes nicely for the two boys I have, their sister is Molly.

    Re: My New Catlog

Looking at the kittens reminded me of when my crew were that old - small enough to sleep in shoe boxes - even in shoes - fighting each other all day - then onto the years of awakening to the awful dawn chorus of screaming birds that they caught. However I don't think Buster ever caught a bird - when I lived in the country he decimated the mouse population. It's a coincidence that you're calling yours Bruno, Buster and Molly - mine had the same initials - Bertie, Buster and Mabel. Mabel was the true hunter killer - birds, rats, rabbits, mice, bats and one morning two moles within ten minutes.
Old Buster is as deaf as a post now and costs a bit - three tablets a day - thyroid and bladder - plus steroid injections to keep gum infection at bay and check-ups with blood tests. He needs some teeth out but he's too old for the anaesthetic. He still eats like a horse and will only drink from rain water puddles or the bathroom wash basin tap.
He still joins me outside when I'm working on the car - more so than when his brother and sister were alive - he seems to miss them - they were a posse for a lot of years - when Mabel died he sat on the stairs several nights wailing like a baby in pain - frightened the life out of me the first time it happened.
I'm working in Sth Korea at the moment - should be home next week - I miss the old devil but life with him is like living with a senile grandparent at times. He is waited on hand and foot - his food is brought to him once he has selected where he wants to eat it - this may change after a few mouthfuls - more than once per sitting.
I know he's spoilt but God - he's been part of my life for 20 years - I was there when he was born and for all the entertainment all of them gave me they work out cheap at half the price.

    Re: My New Catlog

That is one very touchy story, emotions and love have no boundaries, or barriers, be it animals, they become part of the family, and your life, and when their time comes, the pain is no different and sometimes even more than our close ones, that is because they cannot communicate as we humans can share our sorrow and pain with other humans, with animals it is like a small newly born baby who cries for some reason that we cannot understand and may be in so much pain and we can't tell exactly where.

My last cat was about 8 years old and he came out of no where into my life unlike this present one I had to go out of my way all the way from london to Litchfield (nr. Birmingham) to get her and paid £100.00 for her as she looked very similar to my old cat that died of complications through contracting FIV, I never cried as much even when my mum died, as I did for him, I spared nothing to get him well, cost me a lot in vet's bills, but he inspired me so much and provided me with so much love and so on.

    Re: My New Catlog

I remember when your last cat died - and I can empathise with that pain - I've been through it so many times since I was a kid when my first cat died. Everytime, I say I'm never going to have another one - but somehow the new one relieves the loss of the old - bit like relationships. Pets in general and cats in particular only want one thing - fuss. Feeding is a given - that is not up for question or debate - I am in the kitchen therefore I am there to put food in cat dish - Christ, he even has his own full cream milk delivered by the milkman. So food is not part of the equation - if they don't get it they will go and live elsewhere. Fuss and adoration is what they crave and they drive you insane until they get it.

    Excellent Name.

We had his brother 'Gary' too - but he got squashed.

We now have a 12 week old kitten called Jane to keep Dave company as he was getting a bit depressed.

Yes thanks Rod for your comments on that thread where I posted the funeral pictures of my cat, your words gave me a lot of comfort at the time of need, I really really was so down, hence why I could not bear the thought of living in this house with one memeber missing, so i had to get another one and I was so specific about how the new one should look like so that I could forget the one that died unfortunately, so i had to go out of my way and buy one from litchfield for £100, and sex did not matter as long as the looks were similar.

I am glad I have now got over my old cat's death, it past me now, the new one and her kittens are drawing all my attention and yes you are so right about how fussy the cats are, they will not eat something if they don't like, as i said I keep running out of options, yes contrary to what people say about giving cats milk or milk product due to lacatin, they love milk, cream, cheese, custard, rice pudding scoffing off the cream and leaving rice back in the plate, you have to stop doing what you are doing when they are seeking attention, if you ignore them they have their means of drawing your attention, they will dig their nails into your flesh if necessary!! I love cats simply, and can bear their nuisance behaviour against the joy they provide.

link to that old post where I buried my old cat in early January this year. Anyone keep pets?
