    Re: Car Tax "grace"

When I couldn't tax my car due to not being able to get to the post office because of work and because I'm lazy, I kept the V5, MOT form, etc on the passenger seat, so if I got stopped, I would've left the car, waving the forms about saying 'I'm going to tax it now!' Think it was about 5 - 10 days or something. I've actually had it past the 14 days, sorned it online and didn't receive a fine.
One dog goes one way and the other goes the other.
And this guy's saying, "Whaddya want from me?"

To be fair you can tax your car early and still pay the same and get the same expiry date on your disc, so there's not much point taxing it late and getting hassle for it.

if its within 14 days of the current tax disk runs out the its 14 day before the end of the month...so it you disk ran out on the 31/08/2010 you could tax or sorn it between 18/08/2010 to the 31/08/2010
