    How to send by courier?

I've sold a few things on ebay that are quite big. One is a C20XE inlet manifold. I have no idea how much postage it is, I've put it at £19, and have no idea how to courier it. Does anyone know how to do it?

Parcels to go I use, basically measure it and weight it then put the details in quick quote usually alot cheaper than royal snail

OK thanks! Not sure on weight, do you know just from memory how much an inlet manifold might weigh?!

    As Kev says use parcel2go.com

If you go with HDNL service it's £5.99 for anything up to 25kg and within a reasonable size limit

£19 is a bit much, even Royal Mail would send that for under a tenner!

For weight, stand on your bathroom scales with the manifold and without the manifold - there's the weight!

Ah, cool! The item went for 99p, so I'm about 5 quid up on this, I think both I and the buyer can understand that! I've got to buy packaging stuff as well as I've run out.

no need to buy packaging. Tesco and Asda have empty boxes galore and they wrap their apples in screeds of bubble wrap.

£19 is outrageous tbh. - I just sent a front bumper for £19. Far easier to sell things on ebay if you dramatically reduce your postage charges - Even if it means you are paying some / full postage. Not everyone's bag, but its worked well for me.
Sandwiches and laminated printouts!? You widnae get this at AVA...

I try to incorporate the postage in with the price, I set a price I'd take then add postage, whenever people see free P&P they seem to bid a lot more

I've sold a few inlet manifolds and even using Parcel Force it only cost me about £8-9 to send

Totally agree. If I saw £19 postage for an inlet manifold I wouldn't even click to view the description - They're not even worth £20.

Re: How to send by courier?

Who cares what you think is too much, I sold it for 99p, it was in the way, I would've barely made a profit on it anyway. It cost less than buying injectors or the throttle body or the TPS.

Violet, selling manifolds for 99p, what are you trying to beat the pound shop! and free postage too! thats real cool!
if it wasn't for the earth , there wouldn't be any universe, mother earth gave birth to all the creation! and without the earths gravitational pull, the sun and the moon would have long gone adrift!

Think postage price may have had something to do with 99p! Really didn't think it would be cheaper.

Re: How to send by courier?

Sent a C20XE alternator last week, it was 5kg and £12 recorded first class! Sending an equal length driveshaft (6kg), a big load of Starion parts (10kg+), Inlet manifold is the heaviest and bulkiest and some other stuff today through parcel-to-go, think it'll be a bit cheaper. It's a bit of a mission sending sh*t load of stuff out, I don't know how people keep on top of it!

Bastard! The Starion parts are going to Moray, which is north Scotland, and the driveshaft is to Isle Of Man. Who delivers to these places? I can't get a quote. FRIG!

ToMoray/Isle Of Man for 34 quid each? I'm going to have to cancel the transaction, that's more than the postage and item combined.
