XBOX alone would have been worth more than the saxo tbh lol

Re: Selling cars and ridiculous offers

When i bought my old astra it was sold but the lad who put a deposit on it hadnt sold his car and had to to afford the car frigging idiot. When i sold the cavalier it was up for £1k and some joker offered me £300 as he was down the road for a quick sale. When i said no change he sent me a snotty message saying to comeback in 2 weeks when i wanted to sell it. I messaged him a day later saying it had sold to a guy from Glasgow for full asking and he came to collect it so he can shove his offer up his tight arse!

Chap i know was ranting about this the other day which amused me but its a good example -

I have had a guy txting me all day about buying my 106 Rallye. I have dropped the price by £400, and he wants another £100 off, i said no, he got arsey and said we had no deal.

He then came back to me asking more questions, and realised there was no Tax on it (ran out yesterday) so it would need trailering, he cant do this. He asked for a cost for delivery. I gave him an accurate cost, based on his distance away (300 mile at his reconing). I told him I would want the money in my bank before setting off, and all costs covered.
He said the costs where too much, so i then broke it down £ by £. He decided my costs where accurate, nice, and then wanted me to clarify the price, after giving this too him, he decided he wanted to negociate the price of the car/travel in his favour. Not happening.

I gave him a final total, as above, and he never got back to me, idiot. He wanted the car delivering on a 600 mile round trip, and expected it being done for free!!!

I've had some new, sealed 5ltr bottles of GM oil for sale. On AOC, I've had one guy ask if the oil is new or not? lmao Another guy offered me £10 including postage, bearing in mind postage would be £7 or £8, then paypal fees.

    ****ing morons.

As above, sold an electric aerial on ebay. The buyer broke it. He wanted a refund, which I was obliged to do (even though he knackered it), but he didn't want to send the aerial back (as he was too cheap to pay out postage). He also wanted refund on p&p, I told him nobody does that EVER. He then gave me my first negative feedback in five years.

Opposite experience with buyer from Corsa Sport (IIRC) - sold Superleggeras off old Corsa in about 2009 - paid asking price - also threw in his steelies and met in car park to swap said wheels so could both drive away

I bought a car off a girl from the sort of North West/North Midlands area and later sold her another one. Both times she turned up in the knack and offered me all kinds of sexual favours in return for more money or a discount.
Unfortunately both times I was in a rush so couldn't let her spend an hour on the tower of power.

Re: Selling cars and ridiculous offers

Sometimes the idiots are funny. One bloke said 'deliver the car to me and I'll give you twenty quid'. Bearing in mind I don't deliver without all the costs being paid up front the fact he was in Great Yarmouth which must be a good 500 mile round trip minimum just made it more laughable.

Another similar one to that I played along for ages, made him wait in a few days here and there before telling him I'd sold the car ten days ago but as he was playing me for a mug I was returning the favour. He wasn't best pleased.

Re: Selling cars and ridiculous offers

well im in that sad situation of dealing with fools on ebay. im selling a car for breaking - 52 plate fiesta for £500 that we bought for parts, still has the engine (£500+ on its own) and running gear (box goes for £150+) and with the rest of the parts on it, it would break for well over a grand, some dick just asked me to drop £100 off the price to cover his fuel and his time for stripping it himself! are these people for real or what?

Just spoken to my dad - he's selling a 1 year old Volvo C30 R design 150 diesel, worth in the region of £12k. Some nutter asked if he'd do a straight swap for an old but mint condition (like it matters) burger van. WTF?

Ha, "That's just what I'm after - a burger van. That's why I didn't put it in the advert, see?"

I haven't closed any of my selling adverts just to be able to reply to people offering stupid amounts - it says I won't take less than what is stated, so why do you offer 33% less that what is stated you imbecile?!
