    Arrow Big Col's top tip

Don't put a can of Irn Bru in the freezer and forget about it.

Some background first. I've been off work all week with the cold / flu. Generally stuck in the house feeling like crap, spending most of my time in bed.

Anyhoos, late Friday night I feel my situation is improving so I go for a drive/hoon in the car. My route takes me past my local 24hr Tesco so I pop in for some supplies. On returning home the Irn Bru i've bought isn't chilled so I stick one can in the freezer to chill it quick style. In my weakened condition the drive has taken more out of me than I thought and I retire to the bedroom.

12hrs later I awaken. Mmm, I don't remember leaving the freezer door open.

When the can exploded the force blew the door of the freezer open. An irn bru style slush puppy now covers the inside of the freezer. There is a dent on the inside of the door. Due to the door being open several hours everything has now defrosted.

So I've now got enough food for a family of four for about a week to be eaten in the next 24hrs.

only point of interest from the hoon was that the roads had been heavily gritted although the temp (from the Astra's display) was showing as +4.

I don't know if they are using new grit or what but this made the roads even more slidey than untreated ones. Had a few entertaining 'moments' due to this.

I've done it with beer loads of times and never had an explosion before. They just leak a bit.
