The cause of death was a heart attack but the cause of the heart attack has not been mentioned in anything ive read. It is very possible for a blow to the head to cause a heart attack either by swelling of the brain or by intracranial bleeding among other things.

You can see in the video that the copper hit his leg with the baton first so to me the intention was to make him fall not to push him forward. If you did the same thing on the street do you think the police would turn up and say ah thats ok?

I dont for one minute believe that the bloke was just casually walking down the street minding his own business, im sure he was having some words with the coppers and id agree he should bloody well have got out of the way.

I dont see a full blown riot happening either but then it is only a short clip of something that had been going on all day.

When you bang your head you can suffer from shock.

Shock can cause things like heart attacks.

Seems a massive coincidence that he bangs his head hard then only moments later dies.

That copper absolutley MUST get sent down for a long stretch.... I dont care if hes the best officer in the land. The police get away with far to much and its vital that if they are to remain effective, officers know that they will be punished if they overstep the mark. There must be consequences for breches of conduct, and serious ones at that.

I for one would not like to see what would happen if we have a police force that feels it is a law unto itself.

Wether or not the man should have been there, or what he was saying is inconsequential IMHO. The force used is totally disproportionate, I would get arrested if I lashed out physically at someone who was giving me a load of verbal.

Nothing about this is OK, the copper in question must go down as an example to ALL other coppers, it may help protect the public from other officers like him.

Public who ignore and walk noncholontly infront of riot police. That's a risk I'm willing to take.

I'll think twice next time I consider obstructing dozens of riot police with dogs, helmets and batons, as I whistle with my hands in my pockets. Wouldn't want a shove in the back.

The thing is, the officers all said it did not happen. Clearly it did. So every officer that is there and cleary saw what happened is corrupt, and you can not be corrupt and in the police.

Umm, if you watch the slowmo of him falling, he DOES get his hands out of his pockets before he lands. Dosen't mean to say he didn't still smack his head off the ground tho. The push certainly wasn't justified but what did the polis say to him before it happened?

Agreed I wouldnt have done what he did, but, in no way does that justify the actions of the copper, or even give a good reason for them.

Apologies, when making my idiotproof statement obviously I didnt allow for a big enough idiot.

    You have misunderstood me.

By fire "them all" I was referring to the police officers who lied about the incident, not all police officers.

That kind of thing happens all the time during protests, it's us against them for both the police and the protesters, i've seen women who have been battoned to the head. It's only that this unfortunate guy has died and the media are such whores that we're even discussing it.

Was over the top to push and hit him, but the bloke wasnt helping things, in a way he was being an arsehole about the hole thing. If it was me i would of certainly been walking faster away from the dogs and all, was his own personal protest i guess.

Tempers/emotions are high at times like this.

Nor can you prove he died of that fall never will be able to.

Re: Video of that protestor who died in London last week.

tbf he didnt do much wrong. There wasnt any riot going on at the time, no angry mobs, no shields out. Its just a bunch of police moving a crowd on, a crowd this man is obviously not a part of. Theres no reason for him to run from them (especially when they have dogs!); head down and walk away slowly. Yes thats an assumption but its also an assumption to think he intented to get infront of half a dozen police and their dogs.

    On a happier note.
A police officer has been found guilty of causing the death of a 16-year-old schoolgirl by dangerous driving.

Pc John Dougal, 41, had accelerated to 94mph (151km/h) in a 30mph zone before he hit Hayley Adamson in Newcastle in May

Hope he enjoys his term with all the criminals hes put away over the years! lmao

Re: Video of that protestor who died in London last week.

I can't believe what im reading here, really can't. The police were moving people to get them out of the way, that guy was clearly not doing as he was told so he was shoved, to get the point across no doubt. How do you people want the police to react when they need to do stuff like this, just ask nicely and hope they move. Do you think the copper was going to stop to check he was in a comfortable position to land, write a risk assessment then get someone else to double check before doing that? no he needed to move him and was no doubt under a lot of stress and pressure.

Bobody here knows what really happened in the build up, but that guy simply shouldn't have been there. The copper hardly assaulted him, its just unfortunate that the guy died afterwards. everyone is so quick to jump down the throat of coppers saying how bad they are etc etc, but i'd like to see one of you in a high pressure situation like that and see how you would reatc, exactly the bloody same no doubt.

I would just like to add i do not condone the lying about the situation, the policemen involved in that should definitely be held accountable for that.

So when a soldier in afgan gets abit stessed he can just shoot someone for being in the way. Ill have to give our bro a ring and tell him the news as to my knowledge hes yet to try that one on

Give it a few months and hopefully that cop will be munching on some pure Alabama Blacksnake and we can all have a good laugh about it

idiot the two are completely different contexts, that also why we have rules of engagement as soldiers. To compare a policeman pushing a guy over and your brother shooting an afghan really is as stupid as it gets.
