    Yeah it goes in to race i mean "boil mode" when you press it, you have to watch as there could be danger to teh manifold if you give it too much !!!!111111one

    Move kettle
    slowly to and fro
    approx. 1 m/1 yd or
    test drive

    so its ok wont be too bad a fix.

    Don't forget to disconnect the power lead overnight and this will reset the EM light after you fixed the problem.

    Cheers for the tips mate, If the worst comes to the worst ill just remove the bulb and that should sort it.

    As I might have told you that I was getting some problems with mine because the thing would not start again soon after it had reached the operating tempertaure, I found the fault, it was a dodgy thermostate, so I took it out and gave it a good clean over and I bend a copper strip that loked like some sort of contact thingy, refitted and now It is constantly overheating and boiling dry? any ideas what might have gone wrong? have I done something may be or forgotton something? any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    My kettle is reaching 101C is this ok? I can't find a cooling switch? Also do I need antifreeze?
