Pff our Kenwood is running ph3.5, estimated to be pushing 4KW, (got a ammeter power run meet next week for MIG performance kettle West Mids region next week) which should prove its power output.

    Forged Titanium alloy hotplate FTW!

Sorry but i find the best way is to cut the cuttle in half (lengthways) with a grinder then using a special "rough as a bears arse" scale removing tool, or old mangled screwdriver, throughly chip all the scale off! When finished re-assemble both halves using sixaflex "kettle seal" if this isn`t avaliable try gaffa/tank tape. Failing that Plumbers Tape For Everything (PTFE tape) is your answer.

I think your wrong there..phase 3.5 isn`t capable of 4KW, to achieve that you`ll need to couple a 240v and a 110v supply.......now i know this technology is avaliable in the USA, but the cost of buying and importing it from the USA is still currently in the very high thousands of pounds area, I believe the only system in use is being used by NASA as they require a very quick and stable 0-boil time which must be capable of always beating the Russian prototype Kettle-ski!

Would the fuse from my 2kw donor shell be too restrictive for the 3kw element?

I might also do the resistor mod to make my kettle think its running cooler. I might be able to boil to 110 degrees C then

See I was thinking about the power supply and I think the best way around it would be a short sustained +100V shot from a bolt on Neutron Overcurrent System (NOS) kit.

Well this morning i tried to start it, it fired allright and I could hear some noise from it, sounded a bit rough, might be it needs descaling, or perhaps the filter may have clogged up, but then after aliitle while, the temeperature was boiling hot and the damn thing cut out again!! and no matter how much I tried starting it kept stalling!!

You will also need a 100amp alternator upgrade. The standard 70amp is not going to be enough to cope with the extra loading you are putting on the elctrical system.

How about skimming the lid to increase cylinder pressure? Should be able to reach Doms target of 110 degC easy enough.

Beenie, I've bored my redtop out to a 2.6L. It's a "WEAPON". I am using am Omega element and an Omex plug. It speeds up the boil time by 0.4695231475823 seconds. Torque wobbler was my only issue but I cured this by using an equal length base. Spillage risk has been reduced by fitting a Cav SRI anti roll bar and bigger powerflex rubber feet to the bottom.

I have no pics though as my camera lead is missing

You have to watch that using zymol spunk can clog up the twin intermacoolers. you have to be carefull, its not a toy, and to be honest mate, i think if you didnt know that in the first place i dont think you should be working on it in the first place.

Yes you will definitely need servicing as the Engine Management Light is On. Can you not flash the codes?
