If you're going 3kw there is much more involved than just transplanting the element. Do a search! lmao

it's like the equivalent of a civic with neons
I bought two kettles that changed the colour as in Kenwood, but this was made by Clockworks, got it from Argos a couple of years back, only trouble was the steam always got into the circuit and after a while the LED's would not work, but otherwise it was a beautifull kettle with very pleasant colours wchich changed from Red to Blue and with a purple colour when both were on. Sadly the kettles were not relaible, had problems with the seals at the bottom due to concealed element as they call it.

It is a good idea Mark, but I am not sure if I am going to be looking for another job as rumors have it that our company might become another victim of the credit crunch, so really I got to find a chaep 3Kw kettle somewhere.

I did a search, and there is just one other guy who had done this and his 0-boil time was pretty quick, it knocked 100 seconds off the standard 2Kw set up.

They have only made an N/A version so far but they claim its boil time is 0-hand blistering in 1 minute.

ARP bottom end screws and a custom built titanium element.

Well they did plan on releasing a turbo version but they have problems with over heating

    This was the prototype

What about the dump valve? and if the boost becomes excessive it could be dangerous so we must cater for a dump valve.

how early does the boil kick in? Tbh that 3kw element will be way too laggy, 2kw in a small kettle housing FTW.

    Re: group buy. Breville kettle

I`ve just completed a nights research on 0-boil times, i`ve found the best way to reduce the 0-boil time is to completely immerse the kettle in pre-heated (almost boiling) water, this according to google, will improve the 0-boil time. The only hassle i found was, that although the 0-boil time may improve, the 0-explosion time was often quicker than the 0-boil time which resulted in none of the downstairs power outlets working!!
