| Re: Trance music - Whos into it? You've probably heard more progressive sounding trance than uplifting or hard trance Brett. Trance covers a broad range of different styles believe it or not. |

| Re: Trance music - Whos into it? Not to mention before the current breed of 'trance' came about (with the techno/acid synth undertones) it was actually a softer more ambient genre of music that was only related to dance music in the sense that it was composed of electronic sounds. There the similarity ends.
The dance music/rock music didvide will always spark a debate. The 2 are quite literally at opposite ends of the musical spectrum. I used to be a diehard rock fan in my early teens & never thought I'd get into dance music which I viewed as a synthetic, fake kinda music that took no talent or skills to make, however just as music performed on instruments requires years of learning & practice, so does mixing & sampling, not to mention tight production.

Its not my idea of music or how it should be enjoyed, so as I said - I dont understand it. I deliberatly didnt call it crap because thats hardly constructive and its very popular. Im very defined in what I do like and I dont like. Dance music, euphoria music, trance etc its not a music I enjoy, I have mates who do like it and I just stopped going out with them after the first few times. |

Music is a matter of taste. Theres no point in trying to knock a certain type if it doesnt meet your criteria. The fact that if 3000 people are dancing to rock or trance, I bet 2/3rds of them are only dancing to it because its vaguely up there street. You wouldnt get 500 people stood still at a festival or rave because the music is a bit soft, they get on with having a good time despite the DJ/band being a bit crap.. |

I could have said it was ****e, crap and everyone who likes it is retarded but I chose to say I dont understand the point of it instead... that was rather lost on him sadly. |
