If theres one thing that will motivate me to get back on with my studies its this mess, so I can get qualified and earn enough money so none of the imminent **** effects me, or I can piss of and live in a descent country. |

As for being dictated to, we might as well be in a communist dictatorship for all the argument people put up. (Don't get me wrong, I'm no communist - don't like reds ).
So, speaking up, there's me, there's you? Who else? |

| Re: House prices, economy, outlook 2008 ^ Exactly. I only had a convo with my mum about the fortnightly wheelie bin pickups. If we as a country and in the community stood up and stuck together we could beat it. Aswell as this the extra charges for non-recyclable rubbish could easily be foiled; imagine if all you neighbours throw all their rubbish in the street (in bin bags obviously) and claimed it wasnt theirs, who's going to be able to prove who's is who's rubbish? The costs involved in collecting the evidence and making a prosicution would soon put a stop to it (in a country run by people with their heads screwed on right... guess it wouldnt work after all then )
All that silly scheme is going to achieve is, as said fly tipping, and people going out late at night and dumping their rubbish in their neighbours bins Quote: |
five pilot areas where local authorities could charge for non-recyclable waste. The pilots will cost £7.5 million.
| How about you just spend the funking money on taking the rubbish away and funk off right back to where you came from you bunch of deluded idiots! |

So, speaking up, there's me, there's you? Who else? | I expect most like me, wont have a clue where to start to make an impact though! And collective action worked well last time, petrol strikes were pretty much ignored, the road pricing petition which got 10m signatories and they responded saying, 'thanks for that, we'll do it anyway though....'
Seriously, I cannot understand how anyone with an ounce of sense could ever vote for these idiots
Perhaps we should introduce some sort of basic standard of education and understanding of the way things work before you can vote. I mean, its fair giving everyone the vote but most cant be trusted with it and vote based on things that happened almost 20 years ago, or because their Dad voted for that party.... its ****, total ****. |

Your job is to make sure as many people as possible are properly informed by the time of the general election. |

this is my problem with this whole situation. there is no point just voting another idot into the PM slot or voting a different politcal party in. it may make a difference on the surface but deep down it will all just be the same! |

Nobody in living memory has seen this level of economic stupidity in the UK. *As in you will have severe trouble feeding yourself and your family 'destroyed' |

| Re: House prices, economy, outlook 2008 I really dont see the tories being any better/different. Their hands will still be tied by stupid human rights, economics and "Oohhhhh you cant be doing that, its agains the rules!" legislation from Brussels (sprouts). The only reason labour got in years ago was by making themselves so closely aligned with the Tories that a lot of the voters figured, What the hell, they aint that different.
Who genuinely believes they will really be any better?
Oh, and dont even get me started on the whole Scottish independance lot!

Who genuinely believes they will really be any better? | Well, they're unlikely to be worse. If you're only choosing between two, you've got Labour who are corrupt and incompetent or the Conservatives who are corrupt but generally competent.
You've also got the choice to vote for other parties who may better represent your views.
If you can't make a conscionable decision to vote for any party available to you, you must attend the polling station and spoil your ballot.
By attending and spoiling ballots in numbers, it tells the incumbent government that the public do not have faith in them and they cannot claim any such faith when making decisions. Quote: |

Option 1) You vote for one of the available parties by putting an X in the box next to the candidates name. This means you are giving your support to this party and trust them in government. Your vote is counted for your chose party.
Option 2) You attend and spoil the ballot paper. Write outside of the boxes something like 'spoil'. This means you are in protest at the available candidates, none of the parties represent you. Your vote is counted as a 'spoiled ballot' and reported as such in the official count. High numbers of spoiled ballots indicate to the candidates/government that the electorate no longer has faith in them.
Option 3) Don't vote. You do not attend the ballot. You've opted out of democracy and lose the right to complain when things don't go the way you want. |

Any how I shall be voting for communism in the next elections. Maybe if we go back that far we can have another crack at this capitalism thing but do it properly. |

We are being dictated to on so many things we dont want and we all know wont work, ID cards are another thing, road pricing.
Things will change with a change of government IMHO. |

Well thats a theory, and tbh i see no reason why the scum we call our govt. would look at it any differantly. |

Contrast that with pretty much any developed nation in the world. | I’m glad you’ve noticed it - I was beginning to think I was the only one!!!
On a night out a couple of years ago, I gave a lift home a friend and his mate. (I didn’t know his mate) Anyway we got fish & chips and about half way home, he just threw the papers out straight out the car window without even thinking about it!! Then looked at me in total disbelief when I had a real go at him – he genuinely couldn’t see the problem. |

since most or all of power utilities are foriegn owned [not scottish]
i find it hard to believe prices are increasing because they can and are getting away with it?
Gordon's getting lots of VAt from it so does he care? |
