| My big whinge about rear foglights... I was on my way down to the London Chest Hospital today and when I was on the A12, 2 cars passed me, both with their rear fog lights on...
Is it just me or do people see a bit of drizzle as an excuse to switch on this rather un-needed and sometimes, annoying device?
People using them at night or in the rain should be shot personally, unless the rain is SEVERE as is the spray, and then use them because it does get dangerous, but I could see Canary Wharf from where I was - No problems, so the car in front shouldn't be too much of a challenge...
They really do dazzle people through the rain that is really just light mist from the car in fronts wheels...
I mean, the front fog lights are useful, using them with the sidelights does work nicely in the rain, but 60watts of red light when I'm already concentrating really pisses me off...
Oh well, rant over |

| Its mainly old people and women who swiched it on 6 months ago during light fog and then continue to drive aimlessly along until their MOT test when it finally gets switched off.

| Front foglights and rear foglights on in the wrong weather conditions are nuisance and leave you open to a FPn if the Police can be bothered to do anything about it.
I fail to see what is so hard to grasp with rules for lights in rain situations, dipped headlights, nowhere does it say foglights. |

| Rear fogs don't cause me issues too often. It's tossers with their front fogs on in clear weather that grinds my gears.

It was finally found when I brought the diesel XM with its 750 cold cranking amp battery over one day to give her a jump. After about 15 minutes of jump leads connected and me revving the engine, her car was still flat as a pancake.... something not right, as that battery I have could start a lorry... then I noticed the lines of her rear window clearing away the condensation.....
While on the subject, I found that the car I bought recently had an additional foglight switch... beside the gear lever, in front of the sport suspension switch. I had a look, and there was some strange wiring going on. I was wondering what the hell it was all about, then I later discovered that one of the previous owners, for some unknown reason had wired the front fogs to come on when you put the car into sport mode
I mustve looked a right **** driving around with them on for the past few weeks

| I find its nearly always old Fiestas that have the fog lights on for a month following any signs of poor visibility.
Again its usually the same owners that get baffled as to why they get flashed at.
I hate it too. Possibly the worst road crime, second only to failure to signal at roundabouts!
