He has (had) a £900 sound system and no alarm whatsoever?

No offence, but how far back in the queue was he when The Almighty was dishing the cranial matter out?

Sounds like a Sigma M-series. (God I'm a boring sod knowing crap like that).

Seriously tho, what kind of mongoloid goes out and buys £900 worth of stereo gear (which I presume he didn't all buy at the same time) before getting a decent alarm. I wonder what all the thieving pikeys thought when they saw him cruising around, subs a'pumpin only to get out and lock the car up with the key.

I would hazard a guess they thought, "christ what a retard"... shortly before arguing over who had first dibs on the amp.

whooa back the truck up dave and durzel, its not his fault that there is vehicle related crime. Next youll be saying its his own fault for not spending the 900 on car security. how about feeling a little remorse for the guy, i'm sure weve all done stuff we regret and think is really stupid in hindsight.

First thing that goes on any car is a decent alarm system BEFORE anything is done to the car.

But arguing bout it is counter productive i suppose - its done now and the consequences are a result of the risks you take.

sorry, i kinda have to agree with the "how can he afford £900 of ICE and no allarm" argument.

it's a shame, and the allarm probably wouldn't have helped a lot, but you need to protect yourself and tell the truth to the insurance companies.

i suggest he spends half of that £900 on a very good allarm, and then gets the ICE

This is true. I do feel sorry for him, I wouldn't wish car theft on anyone.

However - it doesn't alter the fact he was very stupid. 34.7% more stupid than your average stupid person.

£900 worth of I.C.E isn't your everyday install, and if you don't appreciate how much pikeys will want such a system if you drive around giving everyone a free demo - then you are two planks short of a shed.

    Sad, but true.

how about we take the 900 and get the theifs kneecaps sawn off with a childs plastic saw.

you are basically justifying car crime because mark didnt get an alarm. thats f@cked up.

First thing I bought for my car after I bought it was a dogs danglies Clifford alarm, then I bought I.C.E and ****.

I can understand people wanting kickass I.C.E installs to show off to all and sundry, but you cant sacrifice security in the process - otherwise someone will eventually take it from you. Sad state of affairs, but such is the climate we live in.

I don't think anyone is justifying it - simply saying that if you don't take adequate precautions then you shouldn't really come complaining when someone thieves it from you. Car crime happens, and the only thing we can do about it is make it as difficult as possible.

That said, if I caught someone stealing something from anyones car I would give them a sound kicking. The scum deserve everything they get.

Still - no use crying over spilt milk I suppose, hopefully he'll have learnt a good lesson from this experience.

I am sorry to hear that, no one deserves it and its not justifyable.

At the same time, one of the slogans for anti-car crime ads is 'Dont give thieves the oppourtunity' - which is exactly what he didn't listen to at the end of the day.....

My car was alarmed, immobilised, deadlocked, and it didnt stop em smashing the window, nabbin my black panel stereo, destroying the glovebox for my cd's.
And because it was deadlocked, they removed the excess glass from the window frame by smashing an iron bar along the top of the door.
The area didnt seem that bad, next to a st johns ambulance center and brand new university halls, how wrong can you be???

(Although it was in liverpool ).

The headunit is supposidly useless without the remote (which I had) due to the code input. And was sent a better replacement with a removable facia.

I agree with Odball and Pudsey. We all work hard on our cars and some little **** breaks in and either takes what he can or even tries to take the car. And as for improving security, my car was 'done' and it had an alarm, dead locks, immobiliser, multi lock, disc lock, security barrier on the drive and security lights around the car. The ***** should be shot at birth - I sympathyse totally.

its when people leave the steroe fron in the glove box or under the seat that annoys me !! a few of my friends have had their stereos nicked and said, yeah its a shame the front was under the seat or in the drivers door tray ! now thats encouraging theft ! as its worth a try kinda thing.
