lmao i was on my way to post that very observation. i can see they held health and safety in high reagrds during working practices lmao.

tip for lifting a block out with no manifolds to wrap round - use small lifting brackets and small shackles bolted to the front and back of the block NOT the oil return pipe.

think he took it off for inspection purposes. although a coupe of head bolts in to hold it down would have suffice to get it out

It isn't supported by the oil return pipe (although it strangely does look that way), the hoist was wrapped under the sump and placed around that to stop the risk of it sliding out from under the sump! Minimal not maximum shear force! On the back it was placed behind a protruding part of the casting to keep it in place and again under the sump!

Couldn't go down the route of lifting lugs as the only lifting hoist we had access to had great big hooks on that wouldn't have fitted through them! lmao

Benn - no point in leaving the head on - extra weight to lift/maneuver. block was quite secure with wayne's cable-tied-rope (tm) technique! lmao

OP - Next mince is ongoing lol... stripping the engine down and cleaning it all. I'm kinda glad you didn't pop down because no doubt I'd be in a photoshop thread right now!

So who's up for the refit?

    1. Chav

    Any more?

Wayne doesn't count as a full person, because he spends most of the time farting, drinking or looking for tools that are where he left them lmao

I don't count as a full person because I spend most of my time finding said tools for Wayne lmao lmao lmao

So the others will make up the manpower You're welcome to pop down to take the pi55 or help out, but if the engine starts heading towards your boot I'll throw it down lmao
