Re: It lives !!! (Possible 56k warning)

Well I've retired the computer controlled washing machine the new one is being delivered tomorrow and I thought I'd better dismantle this one and get it downstairs.

It did give me a chance to take a couple of pictures of my homebuilt controller (and yes I did build both boards)

pmsl ROFLMAO thats brilliant. My uncle has linked his answer phone into his central heating system, so he can switch it on, on his way home from work. Dont know what was wrong with the standard timer system? Another bit of classic engineering!

I've been thinking of doing this via text messaging or similar. I've even considered a remote start system for the car this way (and a paging system back if the alarm goes off etc).

Oh and by the way - this is the 4th most viewed thread on Mig Chit Chat now - just hit 10,700 views

I hope you've told you house insurers about your modified appliances, if the 'chipped' washing machine had had a high speed collision with the dish washer then the Insurers may have refused to pay out!

Re: It lives !!! (Possible 56k warning)

Washing machine is upstairs - dishwasher is downstairs - had to keep them apart in case they tried communicating with each other.

The tumble dryer is above the washing machine but its pretty dumb and doesnt speak the same language anyway

An old thread but still a classic - its the 7th most viewed thread on Mig still but falling

I was thinking of converting the old breadmaker (we got a new one yesterday) to mix plaster or something but we'll be giving it to a friend instead
