Local place to hire an A frame

Alright folks?

Does anyone happen to know of a localish place that hires them wee A frame towing things, and how much they charge? I have to shift a donor car to get some parts for my sister's.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

can you put a pic up of what you mean? Is it one of those things that only attaches to front wheels or something?

Yep, that's exactly what it is, one of the wee towing frames that just lifts the front wheels off the ground.

Did you ever get your ignition sorted out BTW?

Aye, fitted the button last night! Took me till 11.30pm by the time i'd worked out how bits of dash come off and routed the wires out of sight. It looks ok and works so im happy!! No fuse in it though cus i ran out of terminal connector thingys but the relay is there. I'll fit a fuse some other time.

Can you not just hire a proper car transporter? When i had to shift my old calibra i hired one from Armagh Hire Services. It was only like £40 for the weekend compared to £90 a day from HSS!! The trailer was a huge tilting job. Fellas in it are really dead on and lent me rachet straps too. 02837527333 They might have what your looking for too. Good if you dont mind the drive down, saved me a fortune.

I did have a transporter before from Balloo Hire right enough, but a mate scammed me it through his company as they owed him a few favours. Great bit of kit (wee Astra 1.4SPI fairly struggled towing the empty trailer mind you!), but it seems a bit overkill for the 3-4 mile journey I need to take this car.
The car actually runs fine if you top up the coolant every so often (suspected HG failure), but its no MOT hence I can't insure it, and I know its only a few miles, but it would be just a cert I'd run into the peelers if I drove it myself...

Glad you got the switch sorted, its actually not that bad when you get down to it, as I'm sure you found

i dont think an un-motd car can have any wheels touching the road, though im not sure. The big trailers do murder the clutch. Let me know how you get on with the trailer. If i hear of one ill give you a buzz.
