Got me car fixed!

Got the Calibra fixed at the weekend! Yay. Got a new fuel hose, two bottom arms, drop-links, section of exhuast welded in and a new t-belt. MOT is next step.

The MOT centres here are a complete joke. Last week they tried to fail one of my Citroen XMs on headlight alignment... because it had been sitting 15 minutes (while they all stood around and had some handbag slinging argument about something), and the suspension had sank down low. He kept saying 'Oh your beam setter is off, your alignment is way out'... and I was just like 'No mate, it doesn't have a beam setter, its self levelling suspension...if you'd just let me start the engine and it'll rise to normal height...'. But he argued tooth and nail with me, over a car he obviously knew nothing about.

Then they couldn't find the front indicators (they're at the bottom of the bumper, not beside the headlights), so he was about to note a fail for that too.
THEN, they put it on the ramp and didn't apply the parking brake (despite me showing him how to use it 4 times), and it near rolled off! I was ****ing rippin! They really haven't a clue...

It passed though. Unlike my Astra last time it was there, which failed because of dirt on a brake pipe!

Did anyone hear the thing slagging them off on Cool FM this morning? People saying that they'd brought cars in that failed, and brought them back for retests, untouched, and they passed fine! Complete fleecing scam like....

Anyway, glad to see you got the Calibra back on the road Tim

Cheers KillBill. I heard about the cool fm thing. Have to be fair though and say the fella who tested mine was really dead on and used his common sense when looking about the car rather than being a complete stickler for the rules. Need to get a meet organised at some stage so we can put faces to names when speaking on here! All i can say is thank god this isnt blocked from works internet yet. Job is far too boring!

Aye wee meet sometime wouldn't be bad. I really should buy a Vauxhall again... don't have one at the minute so would look a wee bit out of place!

Know what you mean about work being boring... I'm actually really upto my eyes at the minute, but just can't find any motivation this morning. Mind you I work in an IT department, so no ones gonna be blocking me from any sites
