Local non-dealer Tech2?

Anyone know of anyone in the province that has a Tech2 unit?

I've a few odd things need done to the car (like the cruise control enabled), but I don't want to pay dealer prices. I prefer the £20/box of beer sort of payment.

I know Jamesy well, he doesn't have one. Or at least didn't when he moved from Donegal Road.

He used to have a sort of generic Snap-On type thing which was good enough to read and reset codes. Tech1 are dead easy to get, you can get them off EBay with a load of cartridges for next to nothing.

Someone said there was a guy who did auto sparking for some of the dealers, and he had a Tech2. But, I've never managed to track down his name or number.

Hi there, if you are still looking for tech2 work I might be able to help. I have a Advanced Opelscanner kit that can do almost all that the Vx tech2 can do, basically does it all except it doesnt support CanBus yet, but that's supposed to be added later this year.

I'm in Portadown, if thats any help.

can that dianose stuff on earlier vx's like calli's and mk3 astra's etc? Is it very very expensive to get you to run a test on a car? :-) Nothing wrong with out cars yet but will probably be something in future! T

Hi there T-Tim44, the Opelscanner works on vauxhall/opel's from 1987 to 2005, so yea your astra and calli should be covered, if you let me know the exact year/model of your car and i can check on the program to see if its covered.
It's not dear, I just ask £15 and if you can expose the diagnostic plug, but if I can't read your fault codes or connect, then unlike Vx there's no charge. ;-)

The Opelscanner connects your car to a laptop and reads/resets eml fault codes, abs codes, airbag faults, can code new keys to the immob' or remove lost keys, give live data on many sensors as you drive and more!!!

What it can read depends on what data is available from your ECU, but pretty much all cars in the years 87-05 it can read and reset all fault codes.

Feel free to Pm me or just contact me through the N.I. section here or on the vvoc forum, I'm regestered there under the same name, Spuddevans.
