Standard XE Corsas are pretty slow to be honest, certainly nothing special! If you're going to the hassle of doing a swap it might as well be a LET

stoners would of been the best to go out in matey, but cars now gone and were building the engine into a hi-po xe. but as nemesis has said a stock xe isnt quick, my old 16xe used to be quicker than some 20xe'd corsa's. id stick neck out and say let for more power/£££ but from seeing things lately, a tuned xe would probably be better use and more reliable but more £££ than an LET, even thought stoners never had a problem with the engine, it did get its fair share of problems.
