    Smile Noob here- hello

Hi I hope I'm in the right spot as I'm in west yorkshire technically, cleckheaton. I've just bought a V6 Calibra as a track car I'd like to also keep road legal. Not an obvious choice I know.... I'm also in the market for a replacement gearbox as mine has just gone bang. Not quite the start I'd planned for.

Anyway thought I'd say hello and would be up for any meets etc and general intros advice from fellow northern folk.

I have a BMW E46 M3 as my "normal" car but please dont hold that against me. We're not all tossers!

    Cheers, john

Hey John, bad news about the box mate. Put a F20 in it instead of that horrible F25
How you find this site usefull as most people do. Have a look about on Mig to see what people have done to there cars which might give you a few idea's.

    Thanks Andy

I can see you've replied to my other posting on the gearbox question too. Am I being dim here but will an F20 fit without a lot of faffing about? And how easy is it to find a good second hand one, as I'm on a budget?
cheers for any advice and I will look about the site, I had an hour or two on it last night and theres so much stuff I hardly know where to start! john

well if its the same as putting the f20 on a v6 in an astra you just space out the drivers side mount by 22mm with longer bolts or something near that iirc?? im sure andy will tell you the crack there.

    and hi welcome to mig!!
