So now we all know this is a big region, how about we all get some ideas up and running about a meet? Now i know everybody wants a meet local to them but we can move around the region if we get enough interest, so tell me where you are and whereabouts you think would be good to meet up, dont be shy and get writing!!!

These are a few of my thoughts,
1.Harrogate,
2,Leeds,
3,sheffield,
4,Whitby.

I'm in Huddersfield, so Leeds/York/Huddersfield/Sheffiled/Bradford are nice and local for me.. I wouldn't mind travelling further if meets were perhaps at a large beach location, because then I can get my Power Kites out for a bit of boarding, and make a day of it!
Post Office pub @ M1 J38 was a good location for a lot of us, because it was fairly central, and very accessible for those coming from afar.

but i think the problem might be people in the north east have to travel a lot more than people sheffield or south yorks way to the meets, thats why i was thinking whitby or harrogate might be more central for a lot of people, i guess ideally it would be a case of moving about the region but we could do with some sort of centrally located meeting point that we could call home to the region

whitby would be great but it does get very busey and its good to see your trying to accomodate poeple that do actualy live in the northeast mate

tbh the best meet i went to was the one at elvington.that was a good day out

well i think if i can help out then im willing to pull my finger out and do it!! like i said whitby (or scarborough) would be a good day out for people but would still like some more ideas before commiting to a meet

i would be ok with scarbrough aswell but thats around an hour for me to get there its just a big region unfortinetly mate with not that many members.

Elvington would be good for me, if there are any upcoming events there that we could go to see, that would be fantastic.
The east coast is the best part of 2 hrs drive away from me.. So I would defo prefer an inland meet.

i will keep eye on posts for meet put car is not on road much a moment will be putting restoring thread up soon but if its out when meet is on may pop along anywhere leeds york etc area i can do future ideas elvington track day would be good

ok but im with everybody else here with the travelling as i live over in meltham which is very near the edge of west yorks so i think if i can make the effort every couple of months to travel all over the region to see places and members in variuos parts then other people can, i will look into elvington and york dragway and let people know but still open to more seriuos meeting places

I think you should post a thread up now for a meet in the middle of november. Set a date, time, and location, and make sure people allocate their time to MIG.
We should all make a big effort to get together, sooner rather than later, for you to introduce yourself, and for all of us to get to know eachother.
Just pick a location, even if it be in Meltham, where we can sit down with a pint, a bit of grub, and chat about what we as a region want to do.

Are we having a Christmas meet then steve?
I think there is actually some money to go towards a meal for this region, because it won best region at Billing 2006.
There are 6 names in this thread alone who would come to a meet at the post office pub, and probably more people lurking elsewhere on the forums! - Get a date down, and get at least one meet to your name before the year is out!

well i sent a message to tom a while ago saying that the region needs to downsize really, its just too big a region to be one, i havnt heard anything back as yet. so if im honest im not sure if its worth carrying on with, trying to please everybody just cant happen in this region as it is.

Hi just thought i'd mention that i would be up for a meet any yorkshire location really

and would be up for two meets, a south region meet and a north region meet.

i did the post office all last year on a tuesday night so i have no problem going there, plus i can get there in 5 mins from ma house.

i just think a date and a list .............. and then one meet a month

how do you get to the PO pub from donny. cause i wouldn't mind the meet up once a month get to know a few more people from the club.
