Very strange US laws, under their laws, GM is declaring Bankruptsy and under Chapter 11 and 363, restructuring and coming back even stronger.........I wonder at whose expense?
Let us hope not at the expense of its suppliers & other contributors but in the tax revenue it owes to US treasury.
Our future lies in the past, we can learn from the past to forcast our future,
Very much at the expense of their existing suppliers (invoices unpaid), the current and past workers (loss of some health and pension benefits), the owners (shareholders wiped out so pension funds, insurances lost out), dealers, the US taxman plus what looks like another $19billion in US support on top of the $12billion or so already gone in this year. Not including any overseas effects.
This is what happens when the largest industrial company goes down.
If Holden says they are not the neast bit effected by this GM restructuring, and have stated nothing is goping to change for them, they are going to continue as ever, so why do they need GM attached to their cars, they might as well be totally independent and make all Australian brand cars and same applies to Vauxhalls, who are no longer going to be part of GM.
Vauxhalls sholdn do the same really, become totally British owned company and do nothing to do with any US or Canadian companies..where is the British expertice gone in ???? Oh yes we have exported that haven't we!!!
