when you say after the butterfly do you mean towards the head or towards the filter. did you use your original vacuum hose and union from your old inlet manifold?
took mine to various engineering firms and had massive probs getting the correct thread/taper. left it wit hthem in the end and come bk few hours later and was done. £20, not too bad
i used a 5/8 UNF tap which wasthe nearest tap i could find, then i wrapped the union(from a 1.3sr inlet manifold iirc) in ptfe tape and tightened it in, job done, no leaks!
erm, depends whose website you read! sbd reccomend doing two samller feed from say 1 and 4 but i amongst others haven had any probs with just the one, after all carb'd inlet manifolds have used just the one for years!
i got the body tapped today, looked everywhere to buy a tap and couldnt find a place to sell one, tried an engine builder, he didnt have one big enough. in the end i went into an engineering company and they did it for me, charged 20 quid though which i thought was a little bit steep but i spose it would of probably come to that if i'd bought a tap and drill bit. where do you get flexible vacuum hose from, i tried halfords today but they dont sell it
ditto. make sure its proper vacuum hose, the walls are 2-3 times as thick as coolant hose, internally braided naturally. you dont wnat that mofo crushing down on itself !

looked everywhere again and couldnt find anywhere that sold vacuum hose that size, then i stumbled upon a place that makes silicon hoses and they sold me some in a nice blue colour . They also said they can make me a set of coolant hoses for my car so when its finished i'm gonna take it down there, dunno on price yet but a metre of the vacuum hose was 7 quid which i didnt think was bad
No 3 metres is the minimum they sell but luckily for me he had an off cut which was about a metre give them a ring, they might be able to sort you out their number is 01582 488040
