Like to know what kind of bhp I've got now and what sort of mods can be done and the sort of diffrance they would make? I know it's a little lump and shold be swaped but thats a lot of work!
Look under ur bonnet and see if it looks like u got a carb sittin on of ur engine (SPI) or if u have got a long rectangle lump of metal with wires going in at 4 equaly spaced intervals (MPI).
Although the 1.4 spi is referred to as the "high torq" engine, it actually produces less torque than the MPi version - Vauxhall had to find some way of getting rid of a 1.4 engine that only produced 60bhp.
The engine number on the SPi starts C14NZ - produces 60bhp, the multipoint starts C14SE - produces 80bhp.
The 74bhp that Mr_PandaPaws mentioned is the 14NV 1.4 carb model, although I think that was 72bhp.
I've heard this is an easy swap,, just needing 2.0 engine mounts? is it really that simple?!!?
