My Girl friend has one of these on her Astra 2.0 16v GSI sound great. Nice rumble whithout the broken manifold sound of a lot of the other high flow systems.
I had a full Scorpion GPA fitted to my previous calibra turbo..
I also had the Scorpion cat pipe replacement pipe as well...
The sound was gorgeus really deep rumble with rally style popping when slowing down, The fit was fantastic to the GPA goes under the rear arm insteasd of over giving a more direct flow of the gasses and also is a slightly bigger bore.....
The sound was comparable to an Impreza turbo without the warble..........
My local SS exhaust manufacturer has a Scorpion Grp A 2.5" on display to show how poor they are. Yes the pipes are 2.5" bore but inside the silencers the bore is reduced to normal. So what's the point paying extra for a Grp A system
BTW i've no proof it was a scorpion but the bore in the silencers was definately smaller than 2.5"
Also i was at a RR day where a cossie was on the rollers and it wasn't putting out the expected figures and the RR operator advised getting rid of the scorpion exhaust
Not sure about the silener thing.. My GPA was straight through if you looked into the silencers the inputs and outputs were deffinately as large if not larger than the pipes you could also see straight through with only minimal silencer around the inside edge of the silencer...........
I had the standard system fitted before the GPA and the GPA made a huge difference almost 8 BHP on the rolling road.....
Maybee the designs are different for different cars.............
Grp A only has a back box IIRC.
I've had loads of probs with Scorpion, I had about 6 mid sections on the Cav GSi and 3 on the Astra GSi, do sound great though.
Bastruck (sp) will be the choice for the cav T though, only because they do a single 4 inch exit pipe which I prefer.
I have the full stainless (not group A), including cat replacement pipe. Had no problems with quality, and when it heats up its sounds deep but not intrusively loud. Was a bit of a bugger to fit. I had to bend the hangers so it would clear the prop and suspension propperly. Appart from that im very pleased.
Group A systems have a 2.5" bore diameter across the whole exhaust system (can't comment on the bore reduction in the silencers?).
Stainless Steel replacement systems are the same bore diameter as the standard exhaust systems (2") but better in design/flow and material/metal selection i.e. stainless steel = last longer.
One thing I will say is that the silencer's aren't as good as what Scorpion made them to be. When the condensation builds up and around the baffles, they degrade and start to detach themselves away from the inner walls of the silencer.
It's just a matter of time when it starts to rattle and rasp until u can hear the baffles hanging on for deal life in the silencer!!!!
I decided to go and get one after work and I have to say Im impressed with the build quality.
The bore size inside the silencer is identical to the feed in and out.
They come with a lifetime gurantee thing so if the internals decide to give up I should be covered.
You will be covered as your the person that purchased the system, but the next owner of your car won't be.
The lifetime guarantee sucks if you ask me!
