when i start my cav turbo when hot it misses and coughs and farts until i either give it welly at standstill or drive up the road for a minute or so..(not far)
any ideas ?
i have a phase kit to install tomorrow so want to get it sorted first.
i have a new cap rotar arm plugs leads etc to go on tomorrow but just in case its not these..
This sound like your hot start valve COULD BE stuffed.......... new one from vauxhall is bout £20...........Although I have bypassed mine as the dont tend to have much effect under 100 degrees anyway
but check your leads cap rotor arm and plugs first. when your car coughs and splutters, stop the engine and remove the plugs and check the colour and condition.
It sounds like its not leaning off to start when its hot, check for black smoke when its not running right ie unburnt fuel due to ignition probs.
im not expert on this cos i still got problems with mine, chances are its plugs cap and arm which will solve ya problem.
toby i do get the some black smoke and the ecu is flagging code 73 afm low voltage now..how did you by pass the hot start valve..
if you unplug it doesnt it flag up a fault ?

leave the plug connected. just take it out of the vauum/boost hose side. ie connect your vacuum/boost hose straight to your fuel pressure regulator from the inlet manifold instead of goin through the hot start valve
