Any of u guys know if the 2.0 fly wheel is the same as the one off the 2.0 16v engine (mk2 gte) weight etc?

Will it fit onto the v6 block?

There were two types fitted the to C20XE engines, flet type (< 1993) and pot type (> 1993). The pot type was heaver. So you first need to know what year it the engine is.

I don't know if either will fit a V6 block, have never tied. But having said that I know a guy who used a F28 6-speed box on a 3L V6 Calibra (conversion) and he used a C20LET standard clutch for a while. So that must have fitted the pot type flywheel, so yes a C20XE flywhell may fit a V6 block at the end of the day.

Because the engine won't idle. At 3Kg, the engine won't be able to idle around 1000rpm, The flywheel smooths out the rotation of the engine at lower speeds, keeping it smooth between each cylinder fire.
my engine doesn´t idle steady before 1500rpm :D

take a look at the flywheel i´m using as we speak.

but this is for the junk yard.
i´m machining an aluminuim one.
that and my 'Tilton clutch' copy will be even lighter
this winter i´ll also lighten the crankshaft..

MAN!!! i´m gonna scare folks this summer ;)

It is common for turbo flywheels to be made with an aluminium outer, with a steel 'driven' part. Thus they are strong, but can still be light.

I'm afraid I only know of a few Japanese tuning firms that do them though. Never seen an application for the vauxhall turbos :(

mmm, nice flywheel insaneswede! Wish we could get through emissions here with an idle that high :(

Don´t know if you got this answer

2.0ne = 6 bolts
2.0xe = 8 bolts (nuts,screws)

Then the 16v clutch is larger 10mm? 215-225mm?
but 16v clutch fits the 8v flywheel.

often the flywheels you are talking about fully machined in top quality aluminium like 'T6'

BUT!!!
they mount an friktionsurface made of steel.
that´s the way my new flywheel is designed..

aiming under 8kg complete with clutch. :D

if i haven´t mentioned it..
YES!! i do work at an machining shop ;)

and for emissionsrules in sweden
under year -88 we got some rules with rather big tolerances
no cat needed.
up to 3.5% co
and up to 3000 hc (some kind of unburnt ****)

My astra is an -84 :D

thanks for all the info boys but im still a bit muddled.

I presume the 20ne is the 8v engine?

Will this bolt upto the v6? (8v flywheel that is)

What clutch am i best using?

Is it worth getting the flywheel lightened?

Im hoping my gearbox is gona accomodate this ( 1.8 vectra 16v)
N reg. But im gona put the internals out of an f20 in there .

IF THEY WILL FIT

CHEERS EARS. lmao
