Anyone ever done this?

I assume the computer has some funny connector on the end that plugs into a cav ECU, anyone know how easy it would be to fit to an Astra?

OMG ?

Oh My God

Cav 2 calibres had them and late CDi models. (aux wiring loom)

I'll have to look for one next time I go up the breakers. They must be tiny to fit in place of the clock

This has been discussed in this very forum before.

Yeah but I must have missed it.

There are better pictures somewhere.

You don't own a GTE Lee so don't worry ;)

Oh no not that old can of worms again

Yes, you can connect it. When you take off the clock you should find the blue connector right there. If not the cable and connector are just behind LCD main board. Yeah, right there. Don't mess with ECU because there is no point in it.

The real problem is to install the right one!!! That's because there are different types depending on year of the car production, tank capacity etc. The wrong one will work but it will display wrong figures.

Since you have Astra GTE 16v the right Board computer is only for the 16v model GTE. I think the calibra's will not be suitable. I'll try to find the serial or type number to post it to you.

The FC replaces the clock.

There is a green connector tied up behind the hazzard switch.

As stated you rearly need the correct one (it doesn't use the lovly program codes like the calibra/cav3).

If you buy a senator one you need to fit a divide by chip (for the speed sensor) but I would of thought a cav one should fit straight in and roughly read right.

The cav one you show is from a mk 3, the others are from a mk 2 cav (f-reg or earlier)
