I was just rewriting my engine spec.....

I was just rewriting my engine spec to reflect what the spec will be once the new cams, valves, lifters, injectors and rods go in. The thing is, I have that nagging feeling that I'm forgetting something and it is really bugging me now. I could be wrong, but can anyone spot anything missing from the following engine spec:

C20XE, 2092cc 16v, Jenvey 48mm parallel throttle bodies, enlarged and flowed SBD inlet manifold, V-Tuning head, matched inlets, multiple angle valve seats, ITG air filter, Pico injectors, modified SBD fuel rail, FSE black top fuel pressure regulator with gauge, SBD race spec cams (295/300), adjustable pulleys, Colsibro valve guides, Paul Ivy race valves with modified head profile, SBD double valve springs, SBD valve seats, SBD titanium spring retainers, SBD solid lifters, stainless steel head gasket, 88mm Omega race pistons (12:1 compression), Farndon steel rods, ARP rod bolts, late C20XE distributorless ignition, MBE 956 ECU, SBD engine wiring loom, Bosch HT leads, NGK-R spark plugs, modified crank case breather, Piper-X crank case breather, increased oil pressure, 82 degree coolant thermostat, SBD race spec exhaust manifold (by BTB), CoolTec exhaust manifold lagging, 2.5" Maniflow system, 4.5kg lightened and balanced flywheel, Vauxhall 5W40 fully synthetic oil with ZX additive.

Also - I was not sure on the spelling of Paul Ivy's name - is it Ivy or Ivey? Any other mistakes / ommisions - please let me know.

For those that haven't been reading the site recently, I'm hoping for the magic 250bhp out of this spec. It should be built within the next month and mapped by SBD soon after.

Clutch should go in the transmission spec shouldn't it? :confussed: - it is an uprated Luk item - not sure it is genuinly uprated mind - as Luk dont make uprated clutches, but it does the job.

The pump is standard with washers behind the spring. I've put that the pressure has been increased, but I will adjust it to be more specific. maybe "modified oil pump to increase oil pressure to 65-70psi"

The crank is a standard late style one. I will hopefully change this to an early lighter one but it is an engine out job so I'll have to wait for the next time my engine is out. I was told that my crank had been shot peaned, but I'm not so sure. The journals have been reground mind - but not really a mod is it?

Are you running the standard water pump? If so have you considered running an electric water pump, should free up some horse power and give you better engine temperature controllability.
Im going to use one on my XE powered mini, should just have enough room for it!

you forgot your ego mate ;)
:D

Water temp isn't a problem on my engine so I just use the standard water pump. A freind has had bad experiences with the electric pumps. He got a kit from Demon Tweeks and it ran flat out and still could not keep the temp low enough (was higher than the standard system!)

Matt - I'll pass on the crank for now (skint and just noticed a crack in my windscreen!) and I don't see it being fitting for at least a year+ anyway.

I think I remembered what it was I forgot - but not. I think it was the modified sandwich plate - which is now unmodified.

Maybe I should do a seperate bit for cosmetic items in the engine bay... hmmmm

I apparently have a larger radiator - but I don't know what it is from or if it is indeed larger. NB. The three items I'm not sure about in this post - i.e. shot peaned crank, Luk clutch and rad were items all supplied and fitted by Regal.

Not got electric power stearing pump yet Mike? - you're sooo last year! ;)

What shells you using?
Oil temp sensor in sump?

Apart from that it looks all there.

Nice spec. Wouldn't it be nice to have a Doug Kiddie crank in there as well? .....................

Good point about the rad - I'll have to check on that. Regal told me it holds and extra litre - seems a bit much to me though. The Luk clutch is fine - but if it isn't uprated I spend about 4 times too much for it. When it goes I will send it to Luk for inspection to check if it is modified or not.

I will now add "colour coded red cam and cam belt cover with veiwing holes for cam pulleys, SBD carbon spark plug cover, V-Tuning stainless steel heatshield." to the end of that spec.

The rad has got an alloy fan, but it always did.

I use the standard early (wider) GM bearings. I'll add the SPA gauge sensors into the spec.

I think the crank is fine for now - I will get everything balance together when the early crank goes in - but as i said, that could be years away.

So how many thousands of pounts is a Doug Kiddie crank?
