wastegate chatter? a dump valve dumps and thats that. (or recirculates, but thats fairly silent)

you can pick them up for £50 and fit them yourself (they do have instructions, but its a fairly destructive process if you balls it up :D ) with the £60 fitting kit (forgot to price that in before!)

as an idea of bits n prices check http://www.larkspeed.com/pages/sectionpages/performance.html

From all the ones ive heard a Bailey's dump valve makes the loudest nosie (like the one that was in that scooby on sunday john :))

wastegate can be created (According to big Nick!) he says he knows someone that had it done on his cossie...costing just into 4figures!

WRC's don't have dump valves, that noise you hear is something to do with the turbo stalling between gear changes, wastegate and Anti lag, if you block off the standard dump valve on a scooby imprezza thingy it makes that chatter noise, however its not right clever for the Turbo although it does allow a quicker repsonse and spool up time!

I could be wrong so don't quote me, this is what I've heard from scoobynet, Fantasic BB if your into serious tuning and stuff, its a great resource!

Cheers

Your all right...the Cav Turbo is silent on gear changes... Just stick a cone filter on your motor and it aint so quiet any more....:D I know coz thats exactly what I've done to mine. Providing you get enough cold air to the filter then you WONT have any problems. Mines been on a year now and it runs perfectly.... And they don't just go whoooosh, it kinda churps on full boost.....LOVELY.

if you do decide to change your standard dump valve only replace it with a recirculating one because the engine managment doesn`t like air escaping once its been measured by AMM. you can do some serious damage through borewash and other similar nasties. i remember in revs a while back they fitted an uprated recirc. valve to a saab turbo, which is basically the same setup as c20let with good results for around 70 quid i think.
