The EPC lists:

LET O2 sensor - 90397524
XE O2 sensor - 90009053 and 90397523

I think the difference between them is that the Turbo lambda sensor works with a wider range. I don't think you can replace the turbo one with an XE one, maybe someone can confirm this....

...also I have a perfectly good spare BOSCH LET lambda sensor sitting in the garage.

Buying these cheep aftermarket ones it's economic because you just end up buying a proper one a week later
I beg to differ Mr K! The two Bosch units ive had have both failed in a the space of about 2 days!
My trusty Pattern one ive had for 6 months has never let me down!
The Bosch ones just seem to go open circuit all the time:rolleyes:

Right cleared up once and for all! I just phoned bosch and they said that the LET sensor is exactly the same as the XE sensor! The ecotec is different as it relys on a completely different system (resistance) instead of voltage output!
The only differences between the two are lead length and possibly plug type apparently!
I then went into the question of why my car keeps eating lambda sensors, followed by this quote "is your car chipped sir?" ermm yes? he says that the zirconia material has a range between 0.2-0.8v you go over that range with richness it knacks the probe!
He reckons i should try and get hold of a different range one again (i.e 0.1-1v) this should solve the problem! he reckons alot of jap stuff will have this, but couldnt comment on this for obvious reasons!

OK :p

Me and my mate swapped the sensor from a 16v to a turbo and it worked no problem and still is 18 months later.Although the wires are different lengths. This was in a Nova so the length wasnt a problem whether it would matter in a cav/calibra I dont know.
