Hello VX friends!
Well, my car have a Le-Jetronic(analogyc) fuel injection, and i would convert to Motronic fuel injection(digital). If i buy the wiring, sensors and ECU of Motronic can i make the modification? Is easy?
My car is a Astra MK2 GTE 8V. I wil need in future put Motronic, because i will put 16V head. But i want put Motronic before the 16V head. The Jetronic is really bad fuel injection for tuning! I want put a high duration camshaft, and Jetronic don't "permit" it!

Thanks for any help!

Yes..i think so. But my case is special. I have a 16V head, and here in Brazil the C20XE is not easy and cheap for buy used. And i would like a full re-build of my engine when convert to 16V, i will put forged parts.
But now, i will continues use my 8V head, i would like put a high duration camshaft, but with Jetronic its impossible. When i put high duration camshaft some time ago, my car be crazy, the rpm go up, go down..go up, go down.. and make a "boom" in high rpm.. its impossible for use. I need change my analogy fuel injection for digital fuel injection.

Thanks!

Hello Ronald.. The Le-Jetronic is analogy fuel injection, can't remap the ECU, then, if you make some modification "hard", like high duration camsfhaft in the engine, the fuel injection be crazy, because the stock Air Flow and other sensores, are made for stock engine, and don't learn or can modified to new form engine. About 16V head, well, all friends here tell me, can put 16V on 8V Block, but need a lot of things for change.
And SteveG, i saw the tread, thanks. But do you make the modification? Now you running with Motronic? Well, i think my car have knock sensor, because have EZK digital ignition(is a Brazilian Chevrolet technology for increase horsepower, is a maped ignition, is exaclty point in the knock of mixture, then, make some horsepowers more), i will see. Then, i will need a sonda lambda too.
Is easy for make this modification? is much wires? Need a "special" know how?

Thanks!!

The system fitted to 8-valve models before 1990 is known as motronic ML4.1. The fuel injection side is very similar to the LE/L3 Jetronic systems fitted to the 1.8 models. The control unit is located behind the trim panel in the drivers footwell.

1990 8-valve models are fitted with a system known as motronic M1.5. The main difference is in the control unit, which triggers the injectors in pairs instead of all together as previously. There are also minor differences in the fixings of the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel injector rail. The fuel pump is now immersed in the tank instead of being fitted along side.

Hey CavySRI. Astra GTE here in Brazil is not really same of Astra GTE there in Europe. Here Astra GTE have only model: 2.0 8V, with 121hp, Bosch Le-Jetronic Multi Port Fuel Injection, 9,2:1 CR.
Thanks Oddball! I saw in my car, and maybe have this sensor yes, but is not red, is black! But have the same "form" of this in the picture. But, if i don't have this sensor, is impossible convert my Jetronic for motronic??

really thanks!
