Definitely have noticed an improvement, sounds noisier and feels more powerful. Haven't noticed any drawbacks just yet so I'm very pleased.

Screws were a pig to get off though.

I suggest any 20XE owners to definitely try it.

As Tim says, the only drawback is around town, it might be a tad more hesitant. I know of this for sure, because I've got an oversize throttle plate on my 8v. It can be a right pig when in slow moving traffic if I'm slowing down and then try to speed up a bit . I guess that it's because the air speed in the throttle is lower and therefore it tends to bumble around rather than be drawn through with a bit more speed. Same as the 16v mod, I've noticed a definite improvement in go.

Tim, u mention that it feels less willing to drive at low revs, do u mean lacking in torque?? I'm really tempted to do it too but in my country, low end torque is terribly important as we spent lotsa time in traffic.
I think you'll find I said..

you'll probably notice it's a bit less willing to drive at low revs nicely
It wont do low speeds as well as when the segment was there since that little piece aids smooth acceleration and deceleration.

Torque feels noticeably increased, and on my car seemed to be present much earlier in the rev range.

RR results showed that :p

It was one of the best 'free' mods I did to the GTE and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a bit more go.
