Gearboxes and Flywheels

Wahey!!! After 6.5weeks Intapart have finally sent me my last package to convert my car to a manual. Today i recieved two pedal assemblies, clutch master and slave cylinder (although the master cylinder bares a striking resemblence to what I already have), Flywheel and Clutch assembly.

One question though, the clutch assembly, is it in two parts or 3 parts? I have the outer clutch plate, the friction plate, and the flywheel. Comparing the flywheel to the lightened one Courtenay sent shows another plate attached to the original. The bolts keeping wheel and plate together dont seem to have a head to aid removal. Do they separate?

What do I need to do here? Is the clutch 2 part or 3 part?

cheers

Thank you, but the Haynes manual does not show me a flywheel. My original flywheel and courtenay flywwheel are very different. I wanted to know why, if one of the clutch plates were attached to the old flywheel perhaps.

You have been as helpful as a hole in the head.

Thank you Oddball, helpful chap that you are :)

The first picture I have lying here, albeit my friction plate doesn't have any springs, or space for them either.

The second picture, well my original flywheel has another disc attached to it, but like I say, the Courtenay one doesn't. Is it supposed to be removable, or is it just part of the flywheel?

Do i need to take anything off my old flywheel. Thats the main thing :)

The third pic is just the reverse of the lightened flywheel.

The original seems to have a plate bolted to it though, perhaps the new one has been machined to provide the same plate type surface without the need to bolt anything on.

Bugger it, i wont send the original away until i get the car sorted :)
