panel filter vs induction kit

My car has currently got a k+n panel filter in it but feel cheated as i aint getting the wonderful induction sound from an induction kit - worth changing it do you think?

Drill the airbox (on the side facing the wing)
& put a cold air feed to the front of the airbox ;)

Will sound better than any induction kit,
I tried this on my GSi, worked a treat :D


Trust the guys on mig & stay well away from cone filters
unless they're in a carbon case (Pipercross Viper) £££

Yeah I'd say stay with the panel filter...drill some holes in the base of it though.

I don't rate induction kits/cone filters really. I love the sound they make. Sound great on a V6 and when the air is cool, the car runs like a dream. When warm though, it's very very noticable, whereas it wasn't with the original filter box and aftermarket panel filter.
