x14xe fuel injector.. where is it located, how do i remove it, and how do i clean it..

i want to know because my engine is responsive at high revs, but at idle, when i put my foot down it just stutters about for a good second before responding..

also, the fuel octane plug, is it supposed to show 91 or 95 for the UK? i think 95..

thanks

yeah its 95,you tryed an injection cleaning type fluid like red ex? just mix into your petrol to clean the injectors and fuel system?

the injectors are located at the fuel rail at rear of engine(inlet manifold) they are fairly easy to remove but should be profesionaly cleaned or just replaced.unsure if thats why you got a flat spot tho mate, how many miles?

The X14XE uses a knock sensor, there is no RON plug...do you mean the C14SE (which fits both of the Drives on your profile)?.

possibly the c14se

the car is a 97 R Astra LS 1.4i SPI, "Hi -Torque!", and it only has 20K on the clock and has service history supporting this!

(the nova is running an MPI out of a corsa.. that might be the engine name i was refering too, oops  )

what else could be causing this then other than a dirty injector?

(just to support my fuel problem theory, i worked out the mpg to be 25 when i last filled it up :( )

thanks, andrew

well with 20 k on the clock there aint much that should fail, open bonet at night and run engine whilst looking under the bonnet, lookig for arking sparks around the plug leads, dizzy+coil,if no probs there check condition inside dizzy cap and arm, check plug condition.

could be an ecu fault, could be a bad earth,

you could read off the codes for the ecu but for your motor it may be a vaux job costing you around 40 notes :)
