Coilovers+Rims on Nova???

MIGWEB people i seek some advice,

Im at the point where ive decided to go all the way with my Nova and go for full coilovers and larger wheels.
I work at Halfords and ive sourced myself a SPAX RSX coilover kit for the Nova (mines a 1.2) and i can get it at a very good price.

The kit will lower the car 60mm at the back and 50-80mm at the front. Ive heard to kinds of rumours about SPAX, one they are fantastic and two they are a bit chad valley???

But as im not a concourse or track car im not over fussed for race performance, so as i can get them at a good price do you all recommend???

Also in time im wanting to run Team Dynamics Pro Rally wheels on the car at 195/45 15's. The actual rim is 7inch wide (euro) will i be ok to run these (arches will be rolled)???

Next year i will be starting a degree in Automotiv Engineering and after my rims and coilovers are on my car will be sound for an engine conversion.
Im looking at 2.0 16v xe but by the time i can afford one i feel these lumps will be dead and gone, so im looking at Mk3 astrsa as a doner car eg. 1600 16v (non eco-tec) has anybody done this conversion and is it worth the hassle just for a 1.6 valver but im only running a 1.2carb at the mo??

Any replies and chats will be much appreciated:) :)

ok, wheels first, 7's will be fine witht the right offset, but you may have to adjust(hammer) the inner arches

as for the spax, i've heard the coilovers are pretty good, if a little stiff

engine? well i'm biased cos i have one, but i think the 1.6 16v is a cracking little engine, very tuneable, and retains the handling of a nova rather than the 2.0 which is some 65kgs heavier!!

sbd have got 254 bhp from the 1.6 too!

lmao, no, they really are.

Rover 3.5V8, ali block and all that, the same weight as an XE! :)

Hence why I have one sitting around, looking at me and tempting me towards it every night! lol

I have no idea what the weight difference is between a C16XE and a 20XE. the F20 gearboxes are f'kin heavy too!!

Cheers for the advice with the coilovers, much appreciated. Ive got them pretty cheap £360 instead of £500 brand new and everything. So im pretty chuffed, as at the mo im just running G-max springs on standard suspension and shocks so it handles like a nova basically!!lmao

As for wheels im looking at 15's x 7inch wide. Im not sure what profile to run, ideally i want as wide as poss.
i was thinking a 205/50, but 195/45 ive heard would be my best bet??
I dunno what do you reckon, will i have to sort my inner arches out??

Basically i want it to hug the road, as im looking at an engine conversion as i said in my thread, late next when i start my Automotive Engineers degree (and student loan to fund!lmao )

If you could advise with the wheels, that would be great.

You got any pics of your 1600xe to convince me, and what rims you running??

Cheers mate
