Aviva do something like that...two cars, two drivers..you both get ur ncb...but I bet it's expensive.
Try a local brokers..see what they come up with.

Re: Insuring 2 cars - how to?

i had a pop at doing this with my mk1 and the wifes zafira, it was actually more expensive than 2 separate policies with most companies, some of the other companies (directline i think were one) had them both insured but only 1 could be used at any 1 point therefore making it useless for 2 people to share the policy if you understand what i mean

Tell them you have GCSE's mate and that you are 32. That's what all the the 'Big Balls' say nowadays.

If that doesn't work then tell them that your car has had photo's taken of it. That will impress everyone...seriously...

Why a Fiesta pal, could you not afford a Zafira, them being a seriously expensive sports car and all? lmao lmao lmao

Are you looking for a permanent answer or a temporary one? Most insurers will allow a 'temp additional vehicle' for upto 4 weeks.

Insure it with Wayne.R Insurance, he owns 51% of the insurance world so should do you a good deal.

    lmao lmao lmao

Aviva look a good bet if you can catch the bottom but I have largely gone to cash now as the markets are going to bounce about a bit until mid January IMO and charting them is difficult as I am fairly new to it. I picked up a nice £8k from CAZA between Tuesday of last week and yesterday. It's cleared the losses I encountered in the last few months and as it's in my yshares ISA it's tax free too. Pumped it back into BP so almost doubled my holding in a week, sadly the timing wasn't perfect, BP will come down more, possibly touch the early October lows but my average is now so low that it almost doesn't matter.

Try HIC, I have two seperate policy's with them and theyre pretty good.

Fair weather car should be peanuts to insure on a seperate policy anyway. Just weigh up wich one is best to use your NCB on because not many people will mirror it...

I have the GTE and Mk4 with HIC, both separate policies. I think it's a shade over £500 for the pair. Sharon insures the Mk2 and her Nova with Admiral multicar, mods fully declared. They're absolutely spot on, and dead easy to add another car on when I inevitably get an itchy finger and buy another project. The only downside is the big hit in one go, it was just over £800 this year for her two and my project, so sold that quick. The interest on instalments was rather stupid.
The benefit of HIC is that I have two slightly smaller hits 6 months apart.
    They're there, in their room.

Yeah tell me about it. I had to re-insure my van yesterday and took "the big hit" as they wanted 18% interest on a debit agreement!

god help you if you ever need to make a claim with them. I had all my fleet with them, but when my subaru was hit (not my fault and no doubt of guilt to the other side) they played holy fook with me. refused to let me take it to my own choice of body shop, refused to give me a courtesy car as i wouldnt let them take it to their bodyshop, put it on the register as a cat d without them even seeing it or a report on it, canceled the insurance policy on it and then sent an email informing me that they were going to the garage to collect it and take it for salvage. all within the space of a day of it being bumped and without any comunication from me other than the inital call to say id had a bump. they just bombarded me with emails.
then after getting it repaired with a "non fault accident management company" who dealt with my claim so i didnt have to go through admiral, phoned them back up to get it put back on the policy (which still had 6 months to run) to be told that cost of insurance gone up since the policy was started, blah blah blah, and the cost to add my car back onto the policy would be £2800 (for the last remaining 6 months of the policy!!) as it was only £700 for the year when i renewed the policy (been with them for a few years) i told them they could stick it and canceled my multicar policy and went else where, and ended up getting separate policys both the mk4 astra and subaru insured for the same cost as admiral was charging just for the subaru on the orginal multicar renewal.

It depends on what you want to do?

If you want to make a few quid risk free and put in some graft then break a car as suggested.

If you have a strong head for numbers, realise that higher risk gives higher returns, understand the markets, can research a company in depth (I am talking at least a full working day+) and translate it's potential into a NAV (net asset value) but realise that in the current climate it bears no relation to a share price (not that it ever does directly relate) then you can make a lot of money on the stock market with small cap AIM shares however you can also lose a lot of money very quickly so you need to underpin anything with a strong defensive (life essential - food, energy etc) stock(s).

As I say for the sake of £11k I made £8k in less than a week.

However, a work colleague of mine managed to turn £1700 into £90 in the same space of time but in fairness he didn't research the company he bought into. Within 30 seconds I said I wouldn't touch it as they had lost money 5 years on the trot. lmao

I always say to people that if they are considering it then they should 'paper trade' first - write down a pretend amount of money and split the money up over a minimum of 5 shares, no more than 10 IMO. Then note your buys and sells/profits and losses. If you can't do it with no risk or spreads (difference between the buy and sell price - the brokers cut if you will!) then you won't be able to do it with real money.

This is not the time to be taking a blind punt. You can make a LOT of money from banking shares at present by catching the bounces if you know what you are doing but it got a bit too hectic for me so I stay clear now but made a lot from them off basic charting. I have gone to cash on those currently (sold the shares, money there ready to pump into something).

If Greece default (I would rather they did, sick of everything bouncing about!) I genuinely think RBS will be a single figure penny share. Thats a huge alteration to my thoughts at the start of the year. That is how volatile the markets are, especially banking shares. 30% profit banked from RBS but I could have held for more...

Thankyou for your in depth reply, I'll start a separate thread with a grand cash waiting to see what the best ideas are. I can lose a grand without much worry so I'm not only doing it for me but for everybody else! I didn't mean to send the thread this far off topic so apologies for that!
