WTF, car insurance renewal up by nearly £100

Just had my renewal through and the price has gone up but nearly £100 for the year. Now i've always been fond of Adrian Flux but thats rediculous. Is it like this for every one seeing as i've made no claims and am now old enouhg to insure pretty much any thing roadworthy.

    Robbing bastards

shop around, you previous company is likely to put your insurance up, there will be others wanting your business badly, so look around for a better quote.

BTW, Don't keep blaming rise in insurance premiums on uninsured drivers, there are very few if any now who drive uninsured, as we all now know that the minute you are seen by a camera, your car is gone, taken of the road and crushed!

I will blame the claim culture, people who stage false accidents, claim injury and componsations, and hundreds of accident claims companies, these are the bastards!

Mine went up from £196 to £222 when I renewed. Not too bad but I did also switch my insurance from my MK3 to my MK4

Shop around, they tried to put mine up by £400

Got some quotes and went back to them, they dropped to meet the quotes. They're just trying to get as much out of you as they possibly can. i don't mind moving insurance companies.

Ring up other firms, you'll get a better quote, then ring up Flux again, and they will beat it.

Mark thats nothing id be happy at that. Mine went up nearly £300 and the only change was i got another years NCB. Got qoutes from all over and they where all about £1k which i was shocked at so i just took my renewal as i couldnt get anyone to get close.

Im with Chris Knott BTW who ive been with for 4/5 years and have always been fantastic. I left Flux the nazi's as i found them to be shocking at customer service and prices.

Same here, 2 years... although when somebody crashed into me I got bombarded with calls pressuring me to claim injury compensation which I wasn't too happy about. I didn't even feel him hit me FFS

Re: WTF, car insurance renewal up by nearly £100

    Well although still dearer than last year it only went up by £10 at the end of ringing around. My experience shows me that;

Chrisknott insurance couldn't insure me as my car was too modified......... Those that know me know that is not the case.
    HIC were well expensive
Greenlight came in close but didn't ring me only email. As such i'd already arranged through some one else.
Flux undercut my new insurer having come down from their initial high premium.
Skyinsurance won by undercutting again and now have my wifes car as well as mine for a year.

Re: WTF, car insurance renewal up by nearly £100

my advice is to ring up adrian flux and pretend to be a new customer, give them next doors address to throw them off, although i doubt they will know you are a current customer without your policy #. i'd bet a shilling they will beat the renewal quote by a long chalk, and most likely (like me) also beat what you paid last year. if you want to stay with flux use their own price beater promise, on themselves ! if not walk on.

keep repeating myself sorry, but insurance companies do not value loyalty at all, cheapest insurance deals go to entice to new customers because no matter how much profit they make, the indusutry is built on GROWTH. they rely on people not being bothered to change companies each year, and rely on people taking the 20-30 quid rise each year because its less hassle than moving.

i've been with adrian flux since i started driving like 12 years ago, this year i had enough and went with heritage classic policy which was HALF flux's renewal.

Re: WTF, car insurance renewal up by nearly £100

I did a hypothetical quote on the web, with a new site that claims to offer cheapest insurance and I have been quoted £720.00 for my Micra 1.0L (1994) worth around £300, 3rd party only, with my +15yrs NCB. (with maximum 1000 miles annual and social and pleasure driving only)

At thi9s rate it would be cheaper to hire a chauffer driven limosine with free champagne and you travel in style.

Re: WTF, car insurance renewal up by nearly £100

Insurance for the Vectra last year was £240-ish, last week my renewal came in at £500...thats for the Astra 1.6 Estate i`ve just bought!....quick look around the net and the best i got was £254! Could have saved a bit going tpf&t. Could have saved £30 lying about my employment status but didn`t.

Re: WTF, car insurance renewal up by nearly £100

Now I know I'm paying too much. I pay £1000 for my Corsa, which I haven't used since January and £1300 for my Combo. That's on top of the MOT's, road tax (£210 on the Combo), parking charges, etc.

Never made a claim in my life. And both vehicles are standard. I have my license for 21 years.

May I ask waht those 4 bad convictions were, i.e. did you have any serious accident or just driving convictions?
