This years car insurance renewal ........

Well it finally arrived - my insurance is due towards the end of this month and I've been waiting for the renewal to turn up.

Last year I managed to haggle it down to just under £200. This year it was at £215 (Fully Comp / 8 years NCD Protected / Legal cover / Interior mods declared).

Only problem is that I've got my MK4 on the driveway waiting to replace the MK3. On the 22nd Feb, if the MK3 isn't sold it gets scrapped for parts.

Rang my insurance and requoted for the MK4 (1.6 8v Club 2000 "W" reg) - with a little haggling managed to get it down to £222 all in with interior mods declared. Needless to say I paid on the spot and from the 22nd I'll be in the MK4 lmao.

Yet again, for the third year running, Admiral Car Insurance have come in significantly cheaper than the next nearest quote on t'internet - I know you can often get the quote down a bit by ringing but Admiral were 20% cheaper than the next closest online quote - they have never given me any hassle and always sorted out any query or phone call promptly.

Now - time to wait for the hundreds of calls to come through from the other insurance companies on the comparison sites to "try and beat my quote". The last time this happened I humoured one of them and when they quoted me double my renewal I fell about laughing.

Good to see you got value for money. Some of them are into price fixing through exchanging information and the monopoly's commission or whatever you call that body be looking into this.
God does exist, to meet him, the price is quite high, he lives in 9th Dimension, to get there only your Soul can travel there at faster than the speed of light, first you will have to shed your physical body, then just hope you have got on the right highway to heaven.

Yeah, Admiral/Elephant are usually the cheapest for us average people. You're quite fortunate though as premiums have rocketed this year, when I get back in something fast towards the end of this year I'm resigned to paying close to 4 figures again FFS
