| i wish i just kept my astra and the 5k loan i had and got a decent car. . was going to buy a 1998 type "s" prelude (223bhp standard from a n/a 2.2vtec) or an integra type R but insurance on an import is way too much. so im just going for a nice 200sx s14a with around 250-300bhp and maybe learn how to drift it.my mate has got a fairly standard one that does 13 sec 1/4's and drifts like mad |

good choice, cant beat honda for performance/relaibility, my mate has an eg sir civic import with the b16a engine, its standard apart from a better air filter and decat, and we went down santa pod 3 weeks ago, and he got 14.7s twice, and not even on decent tyres, i think thats amazing for a fairly standard 1.6. And it shouldnt go wrong as much as a vauxhall lol

| Re: What Brand Will Your Next Car Be? Corsa or Astra VXR for me.
Astra could be a tad 'stinging' on tax in the future, so will see how the Corsa's 1.6T pans out.
Either way it'll be used, so I can take advantage of someone elses depreciation loss.

| Re: What Brand Will Your Next Car Be? TBH, my future car will be an all electrically driven home made project, thinking of converting the Manta into an electric vehicle as it is the most straight forward rwd easy to mod, once the engine comes out in will go the batteries, and the ectric motor still be able to use the mant's 5 speed gearbox, in winter heating being the only issue that needs to be sorted out but for that I will probably need some sort of gas fired burner in the boot or somewhere that warms the interior. The energy during braking will be recycled to replenish as much charge back into the batteries, with a portable petrol driven generator in the back for emergencies. hoping that it will yield approc 150miles per charge. The Manta also has a big advantage that its rolling resistance is very low, I can single handed push it without too much effort whereas I really struggle to push my Cally and the Carlton. |
