| Astra Dan's Mk3 History:
KerFEW started life in 1993 as a company car, mainly spending it's life on the motorway. The first owner liked it so much he bought it from the company and kept it until it was six years old. He then passed it to a friend, who then gave it to his wife, then I bought it at the grand old age of 9 and a half, for £900 in November 2002 with 138k nicely documented miles.
I was nervous yet excited. It was my first foray into large (ish) cc engines and injection. I was used to good old carbs and non-assisted steering.
For the first 6 months, this car turned out to be the most unreliable I'd ever owned. First time I drove it (a friend drove it home after buying it) the alternator failed. Then the ECU light informed me the lambda sensor had failed. Then the heater matrix sprung a leak. Finally the headgasket blew between pot 4 and a water channel. Since fixing this, the car has been flawless and was rolling roaded in 2003 at 115BHP and 125Ft/Lbs, dead on factory. Now on over 163k miles and runs as new, returning about 30MPG around town. Body:
