Mk2 Astra SXi (originally 1.8 8v manual)
Engine
Vectra GSi 2.5 V6. Only mods so far are cone filter, custom 2.5" mild steel exhaust and lightened flywheel (7kg compared to 15kg original)
Transmission
6 Speed F28 gearbox from a Calibra turbo
Suspension
Custom front springs (same as SimonP's convertible) Spax rear (40mm Drop) Spax adjustable shocks all round with poly front bump stops.
Brakes
Front brakes are 284mm Vectra V6 items. Standard drums at the rear.
Wheels & Tyres
195x50x15" Silverstone tyres on ? wheels. Was fitted with BK racing 17" wheels with Avon ZZ3's but took them off due to clearance and handling issues. 15" found to improve things lots.
Styling
GTE bonnet and meshed front bumper, Suzuki Swift side skirts and very subltle V badges.
Interior
Standard apart from cream carpet and aftermarket bucket seats.
ICE & Security
ICE Nothing worth mentioning. Security is alarm + Thatcham Cat 2 as fitted to Vectras and extras.
Performance
Brisk. RR'd at Aldon Automotive approx 189bhp and 187 ft/lb torque. Roughly 6.5 to 60 mph.
