| HIC Insurance Discount MIG now has discount insurance with HIC, who have specialised in performance car insurance for many years. Quotes from HIC can rarely be beaten and we urge all MIGClub and MIGWeb members to ensure that you phone them for a quote next time you need to renew. Although MIGClub members will receive are larger discount, HIC will also give a discount to MIGWeb users too.
To get the best quote, please call 08451290290 and ask for Phil Newman. Being insured through them myself, I can personally recommend them as being efficient and cheap - saving me almost £300 over my previous insurer.
Please mention MIGWeb when calling and if you are a member, please ensure you let them know.
Visual mods are covered at no extra cost. Power increases of up to 10bhp are free (covers a performance air filter and back box). Further power increases result in sensible increases in premium. Legal cover is free. Track cover is free.

| Phil Newman has left HIC today.
There are 5 options to speak to now: Peter, Andy, Sam, Jim, & John.
The MigWeb discount still applies, whoever you speak to. |

I almost had to claim off my own insurance recently (Norwich Union), and had hours of fun on the phone to an Indian call centre. |

| Re: HIC Insurance Discount There are rumours that they had a big claim, and so premiums have gone up to cover this, but will come back down again soon.
My Calibra was written off three weeks ago (not my fault) and I called HIC up, answered quickly, took some basic details, then put me through to the insurance company (as HIC are a broker) Highway insurance. Ihaven't had to deal with HIC again until I transferred my insurance over to my new car, and again, no problems with them except I had to call back as lines were very busy, and due to price increases, although I have now gone downmarket, I hoped I could put my wife on the insurance in lieu, but that would put the price up!
Highway have been quite good also, never really been left hanging on the phone, but they get several companies involved who all specialise in different areas. If you crash and are by the roadside, make sure you have pen & paper ready to keep track of who you have spoken to!!
Regards,
Chris |

| Re: HIC Insurance Discount Hic saved me over £800 against tesco insurance.
Any they are still going to insure me after my ban for around £1000 TPFT.
So i'm pleased with them!
But now they only insure people 21 or over.

| Re: HIC Insurance Discount I called HIC Today and spoke with John, I have been Quoted £405 Fully Comp for My Cavalier Turbo with a 10% for Being a MIG Member. (However he did say the Discount only Aplies if you have attended Shows With the Club.)
With Koni Suspension, K&N Filter, SS Exhaust, Bailey Dump Valve, Permanent 4x4.
I also Advised them that i intended on doing the following mods in the next few months. 18" Khann Alloys, Twin Headlight Conversion, F50 Extreme Bonnet Vent, Mitsubishi Evo Bootspoiler, Lexus Style rear Lights. Tinting of Windows.
The Agent (John) said that he would include these mods in the Quote and also Give me an agreed Value of £4200 For the Car. I have as per the Original Post by Mike Warner Got Track Cover Included.
Down Side.
As i have a Cat2 Immobiliser and a non aproved Alarm, they only provide Stereo Cover up to £150 if i Get a Cat 1 i can pay £25 per £1000 of ice for cover.
On the Track you have £1000 Excess (This is the Std Track Excess that aplies to all Policies). but just £150 on the road.
Privilige did Quote me £386 but this had no track use and No Agreed Value.
I am going to take this Policy as It Seems Very Good.

| Re: HIC Insurance Discount I have a Vauxhall Calibra 2.0i 8v (1990) with private plate, 17 inchers (soon to be 18), lowered 40mm, colour coded everything, rear spoiler, front splitters, bonnet lip, tinted windows, k&n, full ss exhaust, strut brace, loads of interior mods and loads more stereo. All info was supplied to HIC and they quoted me fully comp, 24 years old, £470.00 - and that includes track cover, guaranteed pay out for car and also a guaranteed pay out for the stereo............ everywhere else was about £700-£1500 or wouldn't even touch it!! |

As far as getting a renewal i'm not sure, i would suggest you contact your friends who are insured through HIC and if they are 19 they need to ring them and find out themselfs. |

good as their word all my mods (I declared wheels, lowering, brakes, s/s exhaust and a few other bits) have resulted in no increase in premium.

| Re: HIC Insurance Discount Ive just reinsured with HIC today.Very good quote £200 cheaper than Adrian Flux. All mods declared.Had to go TPFT for the amount of times that I use it though!
A big tip is to make note of who you speak to .When you call back hold the line to be put though to reception ,ask fot the person,If they arent available then they will take your name and get that person to get back to you .Saving your phone bill and a long wait on hold.

| Re: HIC Insurance Discount Don't bother phoning HIC if you are unemployed, they won't insure you. Never heard of that before.
I can't work due to a long term illness (that doesn't effect my driving) and they won't insure me because I'm still classed as unemployed!
In my opinion - Poor! |
